Interesting, think I'll investigate this - thanks.

I use a Belkin N52 speedpad for macros/shortcuts with MCAD etc.

Here's a more conventional type:

The other input device that I use, in conjunction with the N52, is the CadMan: http://www.3dconnexion.com/products.htm

Yeah... We've all dreamed about that one  :)   Same historic keyboard layout, though  :(

What would be possible now, but I haven't seen it, is a small LCD screen with a representation of the keyboard layout of a macro keyboard with updating command mapping on the "keys".

OK Mouser, there's your next project... :)

This is the sort of thing- http://www.3dconnexi...n.com/spacepilot.htm -  except they spoilt it by not having a more direct relationship between the display and the macro keys....  :(

Try as I might (not enough obviously), I cannot get used to the new keyboard layout with just two columns above the arrow keys. It just messes me up every time. It doesn't help having old style at work and narrow style at home. I've actually ditched the expensive 'narrow' and I'm using a saitek eclipse http://www.saitekusa...sa/prod/eclipse2.htm which has a very good feel.
My all time favorite was probably a Gateway 2000 keyboard that was programmable and had f-keys down the left side too.

That is the wildest keyboard I've seen in quite awhile LOL! & only $150. Wonder when it'll go wireless for real ultimate KBing!

Not according to this: http://community.liv...s_project/30285.html
Apparently the first 200 will ship out Dec. 1st.
Sold out in 12 hours after it hit Slashdot.

The next 400 go in January...
