What happens to the code when the programmer dies?
« on: May 20, 2006, 05:27 PM »
Does anyone have a link to the recent little article/blog post on making plans for what happens to the source code if a programmer dies?
I can't seem to find it.

I am making arrangements now to make sure that should something happen to me all of the DC software will stay free or go open source, and the site will continue to be run as it is.

ps.
i am adding a clause such that if i am assasinated by a DC member or member of alt.comp.freeware, then all of my software will become the possession of microsoft.

ps2.
i am adding a clause such that if i am assasinated by a member of mircrosoft, all of my software and this site will beomce the possession of google.

ps3.
i am adding a clause such that if i am assasinated by a member of google, all of my software and this site will beomce the possession of yahoo.

If you are assassinated by a member of DC, the code will go to microsoft? Oh... Poor us, we wouldn't see it again :(
(well.. i guess we would have deserved it, if we made a plot to harm you ;) )

Alternatively give it to Creative Corp and wait for Apple to bring it out in their next product (or vice versa depending on which court you attend).
