Fellows, been a user of screen captor for a while, but just upgraded to Windows 8 and the Selected region capture doesn't seem to work as before. Unless I click the Taskbar before I hit shift-printscreen it won't start capturing anything.
I don't think it is how it's supposed to be.
I thought Send to Onenote might be interfering, but I've disabled it and I still get the same behavior.

Any ideas?

It sounds to me like maybe something else has taken over shift+prtscreen hotkey.

try setting a different unusual hotkey in screenshot captor options and see if it works -- if so then at least we know that's what the problem is.

Works fine for me in "legacy desktop".  I never see metro mode (or modern, whatever they decided to call it) so I can't comment on that.  :P
