My experience ordering BT...Oh what a headache
« on: November 27, 2012, 07:22 AM »
Well,

I ordered BT (British Telecoms) Infinity (Fibre) Broadband, Landline, and TV (BT Vision) on the 19th October 2012.  After numerous calls, I was informed my installation date was the 6th of November...OK...Not too long to wait, or so I thought...The 6th came and went...I called BT, only to find out no engineer was booked to come out and they would be coming on the 12th..."Goddammit" I thought...but fine!  the 12th came, and a Contractor (Not official BT Engineer) came out, messed around with my phone socket faceplate, then disappeared to the street cabinet to hook me up...at this point, I thought all was good...Until I realized it was the same, imcompitent idiot they had sent to a friends house, who didn't know what he was doing...Well...low and behold...he returned to my house, and said he couldn't figure out what to do inside the cabinet, so would have to fail the installation and get someone else sent out...which he DIDN'T...so I called BT as soon as he left, and asked them to send somebody else...I was promised somebody would be out before 6pm...6pm came, 6pm went...I called BT AGAIN and was told an engineer had been out (I had not left the house, and was positive nobody had been), however, that 'engineer' had said he completed the work...so after screaming and shouting, they had to "Escalate" my complaint and issue...I was then told they had to re-order everything so it went smooth (Bearing in mind, during all this time, I am completely locked in with BT)...they told me someone would be out on the 23rd...no1 came...then told me it would be the 27th...Well...here we are on the 27th...and guess what...I am on the phone with them right now...I have so far found out that they couldn't come out today due to some other 'issues' that have arose with my installation...Not got a full conclusion yet as I am still on the phone with them...but I can assure you...the 4 times I have had to take time off work, only to be sitting around waiting for nobody to turn up...I WILL be getting compensated for...Even if I have to personally visit a BT call center and take equipment from their office, in lieu of payment.

Ill update this with the outcome of this call, once I get off the phone with them (Managed to write all this while on hold from one department to another!)

You have my sympathy... I've never had it that bad. Bad, but not that bad. :(

Good luck!

Jesus...that took the absolute piss...Apparently they had to re-order EVERYTHING...and will be coming out on the 4th...told them if nobody turns up, I will be suing them for fucking me around and locking me into a service I don't have.

I will also be demanding all the wages I lost from waiting for engineers to turn up, who ain't even coming out. (Around £300) PLUS I will be demanding compensation for locking me in for 2 months without providing me a service.

I had EXACTLY the same issues.

So, I emailed [email protected] (the Cheif Exec)

Within 2 days it was all sorted. I have a guy hpone from the Chief Execs office (James or John) he gave me is direct dial number, so I could call him anytime. And monitored my order until it was all sorted and complete.

Send an email explaining your situation and I promise it willbe sorted!

Awesome, I'll give that number a call tomorrow...I'm more annoyed at the fact I don't get paid for taking this time off while waiting for engineers that don't turn up.
