dock to side of the screen

Is it possible to dock to the side of the screen?  I've tried dragging to the side and it doesn't dock like it does at the top.  Can't see an option to do this.  BTW, on Windows 8.

should dock to side of screen fine -- just remember you have to UNDOCK first then drag to new dock place.

Got it to dock.  Had to keep dragging to get 1/2 the dock into the side of the screen.
