I don't think there's anything wrong with calling us winners. I don't see how it is much different from NaNoWriMo, an event where you have one month to write 50,000 words, and anybody who succeeds in the challenge is considered a winner.

NANY is an event where you have until New Year's Eve to submit an application, and anybody who succeeds in that challenge is considered a winner.

That said, looking at my previous two NANY mugs (from '09 and '10) it seems that they don't make any mention of the fact that I was a participant or a winner or a completionist or anything like that. Perhaps this entire problem could be resolved if this year's mug followed the same trent.

Deozaan, please allow things to grow, not stay where it was. Please do not understand me wrong, but if we do not try something new, the enthusiasm of NANY may die some day. Case in point Win8, IPad, to try something new.

I'm no artist

but I sure hope someone does this again for NANY 2012. Over the past few years I've gotten the unique mugs (rather than the standard ones showing Cody asleep on the 1st) and I really liked the different designs. Who did them? Any possibility we could "commission" another from the same person?

As for the wording of the certificate...personally, I like survivor best

I will be sending out gift certificates to participants today if all goes well. The gift certificates will be for $20, which is enough to buy yourself a mug, shotglass, drinking glass, mousepad, tote bag, or anything under about $13, and have it shipped anywhere in the world. Many of the other items will end up costing more than that, so if you want something else you'll have to pay the remainder yourself.

Hello ello I would really love to have a large mug with the design as in the opening post. ie the image of cody and nany 2012 but without the paragraph of text. This makes for a more iconic look with the awesome vintage Cody. (might have to resize cody to compensate). Happy to have a go at it if the image source is available if that helps.
