Robosoft from Ground Zero
« on: March 19, 2011, 12:18 AM »
I'm about ready to launch a new site shortly, but along with the site launch, I'm going to be blogging about it at Cynic.me.

There are a bunch of things that I'm going to cover over the next few months.

One of the topics is going to be Robosoft. This is the first introductory post:

Using Robosoft from Ground Zero

...

I’ve gone on for years about how absolutely wicked amazing and mind-blowing Robosoft it and how it can catapult you in the search engines. I’ve threatened to write a book on it as well, and while I managed to start it, I never finished. Well, this is where that all stops. I’m going to blog it out here and show just how Robosoft and PAD work.

...

If you are looking to promote your software, I'd encourage you to read along over the next few months. I'm going to post a lot of information that only a very few people know.

One of my motivations is to show that it works and to silence the nay-sayers.

Now, back to work on actually doing it~! :D

Hey, post Open candy results related post on your blog too. Maybe we'll see some reactions or replies that we don't see on forums ? just a thought...

No worries there. I plan on posting a lot of information about the new site. I'll post a formal announcement here as well when it's open. I'm waiting for some feedback from a few guru friends before opening the site URL publicly.

I'll be posting a lot of things about OpenCandy as well.

I'm going to try to separate posts into more business and more technical entries with a few that combine both aspects.

Nothing about OpenCandy yet (getting there), but more on PAD and Robosoft:

Writing PAD Content is Off-site SEO

If you are writing in PADGen, you need to stop, unless you are an extremely talented writer, in which case you’d probably know better anyways. That goes for all the program descriptions, press release, and other “copy”. Things like download URLs are trivial, so just enter that into PADGen normally.

The most important fields when you write your PAD file are:

...

It's slow going there. The hairy stuff is yet to come. :)

Turbo-Charging Robosoft with DynamicPAD (Part 1)

In this post I outline the basic problem that you need to overcome. In the next few posts, I'm going to post the solution.

You kind of need to read all of my posts on the topic to understand everything. It all goes to off-site SEO and how you can optimize that for your software. I don't repeat things, so if you're wondering "why" about certain things, check the other posts. They are all categorized under a few categories:

http://cynic.me/category/robosoft/
http://cynic.me/category/pad/
http://cynic.me/category/dynamicpad/

etc. etc.

Turbo-Charging Robosoft with DynamicPAD (Part 2)

Things start to pick up more in my most recent post there. It gets you ready to enter all of your multiple sets of PAD text.

Well, got the next installment up with the first results:

Results for "photo resizer"

Considering the site started from absolute zero, it's not too bad.

Turbo-Charging Robosoft with DynamicPAD (Part 3)

Part 3 is up, and the whole process is almost done. There's enough information up there now to get started, although I will be outlining more so that everything is up there in a step-by-step way. (Although some steps will not be in strict order.)

The 4th and final installment:

http://cynic.me/2011...h-dynamicpad-part-4/

That gets you ready to start your Robosoft submissions.

Parts 1 to 4 cover everything you need to know to get DynamicPAD working, and how to turbo-charge it.

It doesn't cover actual submissions, but anyways... There it is.

I hope that somebody finds it useful.

TOP 10! :D

The proof is in the pudding~! :)

Robosoft and DynamicPAD Results 12 Days In

So, Super Simple has been live for 12 days. It took about 2.5 days to submit, and since then I’ve only made some blog and forum posts. Results? Not too bad. Photo Resizer has moved from second click results to first click results, just as predicted. The Super Simple Photo Resizer even has a top 10 ranking now!

I've seen much better results in the past, but it still works.

I'm glad you found it interesting/useful.

It is a lot of work, but it works as you can see there from my results.

I was beginning to wonder if I'd completely wasted my time writing it up. It's for a very small, focused audience.

I've not put it into practice ... yet; but you've written about it quite succinctly and convincingly.  It appears that you've come up with a way to greatly leverage an existing tool, much as JottiQ does for Jotti's Malware Scan.  I'd been considering obtaining Robosoft for awhile.  Now I'm strongly considering it.

You know, the process you describe for setting up your templates is fairly straightforward (export from Robo, changing <br /> to space, etc.)  With N.A.N.Y. 2012 coding beginning in not too many more weeks, that would be a great project idea for someone: to create software to automate the DynamicPAD template-creation process...

I've got all the core logic laid out there, so that makes that easy. The hard part would be deciding what to include/exclude. e.g. Do you want to include N languages? I didn't take into account any of that there, though it is workable.
