Language Stuff
« on: October 22, 2010, 03:08 PM »
I thought this 'LangOver' program may be useful for many here.
It has more than translation abilities.
Rarst.net describes it better than me so.....

If such an app is needed it seems to provide more than Google Translate.
It does have to run in the tray though.

From the Announce Your Software/Service/Product forum:

I want to recommend you about new software called LangOver.

You can download it for FREE from here:

http://www.LangOver.com

LangOver 5.0 - is a freeware that helps when you tried to type in one language but the result was in another... Annoying, eh?! That's because the keyboard layout was in a wrong language, and you forgot to use "ALT+SHIFT"... NO MORE! With LangOver 5.0 you'll be able to convert your text quickly between languages. Just click "F10" and your text will be fixed! LangOver 5 is free and Supports ANY language!

'F10'        Change language
'Shift+F10'       UpperLower Case
'F6'       Reverse a text
'Control+G'       Search in Google
'Control+T'       Translation New!

thanks,
Oded

Thanks tomos, I was wondering what other similar programs are out there with this thread.

Plenty of translators but adding some extras that are helpful along with it may make it worth running in the background.

I dont think this actually 'translates' text.
IIUC, it will change a block of text to be as if it were printed with a keyboard from a different language.
i.e. if, on my german keyboard, I start typing as if it were an english keyboard (& forget to change the keyboard settings) I can select the typed text and the app will convert it to 'as if it were typed on an english keyboard'.
But I think you understood that bit anyways ;)

Yes the keyboard switch is it's function, and translation is a side item to LangOver.
'Control+T'
If I understand correctly.
You can see why I didn't try to explain it.
