Giving away a copy of Camtasia Studio 7
« on: April 04, 2010, 04:09 PM »
Hoping this is the correct place for this.

Anyone that knows Veign know that I giveaway lots of free software.  Anytime I can I give stuff away.  Well, I now have a copy of Camtasia Studio 7 to giveaway.

All you have to do is download the demo, become a fan of Veign on Facebook and leave a comment on what you like about Camastia Studio 7 here:
http://www.facebook....?eid=114924205188892

The reason for the above is I want to give it to someone who really would use Camtasia Studio and who has tried it and it fits their needs.

Thanx all...

Wow, awesome offer that I'd love to take advantage of. Unfortunately Facecrap (sorry, hehe) is telling me "The message could not be posted to this wall". Is that because it's too long? Has special characters? Mentions leprechauns too many times? I don't know. Facebook isn't smart enough to give me a reasonable explanation. *sigh*

So, even though it's against the rules, I'll post my response here, and keep trying over there (I did at least become a fan):

I've been wishing I could afford it ever since I first tried it 6 months ago. The best option that I've seen for professional quality screen demos and instructional vids. I tested it for doing demos and tutorials for a software program and I found it to be way beyond any other option. There are many other apps out there that will do screen captures, from the free Wink and Camstudio, to VNC-based options like UVNC and TightVNC screen capture, to online options like Jing. All of these have  benefits, but Camtasia goes beyond any of them, with great screen capturing options and performance, but more importantly good, functional, and easy to use editing options. That's where it shines for me. What I found in testing is there's really no way to get one single "ideal" take, so good editing is a must. In addition, you need ways to augment and annotate your capture, which Camtasia also does well. Overall, despite the availability of free options, I find that Camtasia is the only thing that can create the level of professionalism I want for my screen capture videos. It's a great app that I would love to add to my toolbox.

Thanks. It was a length issue apparently. You may notice my comment above is longer than what ended up going on FB. *shrug*

 Couldn't agree more. I loathe Facebook - though family keep urging me to enable my account... I'm almost tempted - might stay in touch more - but the, I loathe Facebook... Vicious circle  ;D

i've been dreaming of trying to get a camtasia license to give to dc member skwire to do screencasts for all of the coding snacks he does for the DC community (or to give to someone who would pledge to make screencasts of them).

skwire if you see this thread, please go enter!

To each his own on FB.  I find it a great way to keep up with my family (my entire family lives away from me).  FB makes me feel 'connected'...

I appreciate the sentiment, mouser, but I'm not about to sign up on Facebook just to enter.   Thanks all the same, though!   :D

Dear Mr. Veign,
If you could get hold of a multi-user Camtasia Studio product key, everyone would be happy, especially folks like me who can afford SnagIt but not Camtasia Studio.

BCHOWDHURY,
I don't follow.

I have one key to give away that will give someone a full-version of Camtasia.

Nah... I'm a family man. I'd like a Mazda 5 with the Sport package please. And don't be stingy with the options!
