Elegant Full Screen Weather Map Web Page
« on: February 12, 2010, 06:04 PM »
From lifehacker comes news of this very elegant full screen, clutterless display of weather in your area from the weather underground website.  Would be nice to use this in a screensaver that auto-refreshed it (anyone know of such a screensaver?)

This would be awesome if it was a little bit more in depth.  Could do with specifics on what the cloud type is over specific areas, and perhaps even wind speeds and direction (Handy for deciding if its a nice enough day to go flying)

 It has wind speed & direction listed in the gray mini panel.

I grabbed their gadget to see how it compares to the one I'm currently using. Current gadget says 45f underground's says 38.5f - I'm thinking it feels about 38 outside (their predicting snow...).

i wrote a web page once that would run google maps full screen, i even had it set as my active desktop wallpaper at one time (i know how horrible active desktop is, no need to remind me) and i had something that would overlay radar images on google maps. if i were to combine the two things i could probably make some kind of wrapper that would make it act like a screensaver. animating the radar would be possible as well, and auto updating it

Odd, it's just a blank white screen on my monitor. Flash is on, but so is adblock.
