OPENOFFICEMOUSE
« on: November 08, 2009, 08:07 AM »
I'm beginning to shop for another mouse for my Dell Dimension 3000 box (WinXP & linux). Anyway, I stumbled across http://openofficemouse.com/pr110609.html  ;D

They just as easily could have named it the MMORPG mouse. Shame the colors are so blech, though.

I wonder if the source code behind each button will be released and whether the user will be prompted if they want to install MS Office or StarOffice upon plugging it in? I mean, Microsoft has to do it ;-)

Ugh! The buttons are positioned too far back, my thumb would end up in a permanent hook if I tried using that thing.  Plus at only 200"/s tracking speed it's too slow for serious gaming.

I'm much more interested in the Sentinel Advance which has 6m/s tracking so I can do a 180 in <1.058493728ns and has headlights for dust particle avoidance on my mousing surface.

I wonder if I could play videos on the OLED while gaming....hhmmmm....

You don't need fast tracking speed for WoW or other MMORPGs. These are games where you can suddenly find yourself repositioned halfway across the map because there was a temporary communication error with the server and they didn't realize you'd moved so far. :P
