Free WinUtilities 6.2!
« on: March 22, 2009, 03:35 PM »
Hello,

WinUtilities is an excellent and reliable computer commercial tuneup utility software that rivals the likes of TuneUp Utilities and WinOptimizer. WinUtilities includes registry cleaner, disk cleaner, EXE password protector, uninstaller and much more.

dotTech.org  is currently running an offer that allows you to obtain a full version of WinUtilities 6.2 for free! This is not like the usual GOTD giveaway where you must download and register it in 24 hours. This is just like if you were to purchase WinUtilities 6.2 yourself. You can install, uninstall, reinstall as you please. There is no limit to the license.

To get WinUtilities 6.2 visit http://www.dottech.org/freebies/4945 please.

Take care,
Ashraf

hahah...
i think i can guess what happened here:

Ashraf is not a bot.  A spammer probably posted after his first post.  Then Ashraf responded.  Then the spammer's post was deleted.
Now it looks like Ashraf is accusing himself of being a spammer  ;D

LOL! Ya Mouser is right. Some person was posting links to a registry cleaner (all of his/her posts were the same) so I wrote that in response. I maybe should delete that post.

it's funny how deleting posts leads to a chain reaction of weird replies that no longer make sense in the context of the now-deleted posts.  and any attempt to edit and fix just results in more temporal discontinuities.. i guess now we know why time travel was outlawed in the year 2516.. oops i think i said too much.

Has anyone actually tried Perfect Utilities? Going to the original link the same company seem to be selling WinUtilities 7 and giving away Perfect Utilities 2 for free but from what I have read they are identical (apart from the WU skin pack).

Are these good products or are they best avoided? (Yeah I know most RegCleaners should be avoided unless you are REALLY discriminating in what you let them delete but what about the rest of the tools).

I used some of the functions of Perfect Utilities with no problems. Most of the other functions, which are disabled by default, I use other programs for. I also didn't use all the functions that are enabled by default.

There are some things in the program that are unique. Just have to look around a bit to get familiar with it.

WinUtilities canceled
« Reply #8 on: August 15, 2010, 07:09 AM »
For the past 6 months dotTech has been running a WinUtilities Professional Edition giveaway, allowing dotTechies to grab WinUtilities Professional Edition for free. Recently, because of a disagreement between dotTech and YL Computing (the developer of WinUtilities), YL Computing has canceled the WinUtilities Professional Edition giveaway and dotTechies will no longer receive free updates.

If you have WinUtilities Professional Edition currently installed using dotTech's registration information do not update the program or else it will revert to the trial version.

Furthermore, it seems like YL Computing has also canceled the giveaway with other sources like Softpedia, so you can't grab it from there anymore either.

WinUtilities is now at version 11, and is being given away (today only) by "Shareware On Sale".
Free, but no updates:
http://sharewareonsa...-edition-29-95-value

or a so-called lifetime key, but merely for 1 computer:
http://sharewareonsa...inutilities-pro-sale => $12 instead of $32½

So, their best offer would be the 3-computer lifetime license:
https://secure.avang...%26AFFILIATE%3D52714 => $20 (plus VAT) instead of $80 = 75% off.

Sale ends in 1 day 13 hrs or until sold out

What do we think: Is one or the other a renamed copy, or are they genuine competitors?
