Theme Font and Size Changer
I can't seem to get the Theme Font and Size Changer to work.

Do you have checkCompatibility installed?
I do now; still no luck on FF font size too small, but not sure if all my options are aligned; I pick 14 as minimum font but some fonts on some pages still look like 10pt.

Just to clarify, checkcompatibility works more like it should be named 'fix compatibility'; right? That's what it does; right?

I guess it is a fix for the check compatibility thingy.  Afa the fonts I also use ColorToggle for cases when I need light text on a dark background to read easily.  Although I don't use it as often since I switched Firefox to use ComicSans font.  It seems less blurry.

I'm really just giving feedback, but appreciate all your suggestions. FF used to be a good browser, but somehow it just doesn't seem so great anymore. Pale Moon does not work with XP or I would switch.

Pale Moon does not work with XP or I would switch.

https://www.palemoon.../palemoon-atom.shtml

This version of Pale Moon is optimized specifically for use on Intel Atom™ processors and compatible with the Windows XP and Server 2003 operating systems.
These builds are specifically optimized for Intel Atom™ processors, and are not recommended for regular Intel or AMD processors on current operating systems (Vista or higher). The extra optimizations only work on Atom processors and will execute a little slower than the normal version of Pale Moon on a non-Atom processor (but otherwise run just fine). In general use, you will likely not notice much (if any) difference if run on a non-Atom processor that is likely more powerful, anyway.

It works. Nice. palemoon-atom for Windows XP. My vintage Gateway TA6 has an Intel Centrino cpu, which I never heard of before receiving it, but with the SSD it's really not that slow.

So far updating to 44.0 the only side effect has been losing the Reader AddOn Button.  A reinstall got it back.

Where do they hide it?  I never noticed.  :)

Oh.  I am running classic theme restorer.  So I don't get those black stick figure buttons except for the main menu button..

Just thought I'd expand a bit on one of the addons I use: Advanced URL Builder

Helps if you ensure the extra space that's selected when double-clicking text is not selected, in about:config

layout.word_select.eat_space_to_next_word;false

Favicon Reloader broken?
« Reply #811 on: February 05, 2016, 09:40 AM »
Anyone having trouble with Favicon Reloader?  I haven't used it in a while.  Tried it today with 44.0 and got 4 reds and all the rest yellow saying "try links manually."  I backed off to FF 43.04 but I got the same results.  If it does not work with FF after some version does anyone have a good alternative?

It made me sad when Textarea Cache stopped working,
so I was pleased when I found this private fix via reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/4899gd/alternative_of_textarea_cache/ + scroll down

I am using it, it is clean, and well working on Firefox 44.0.2     I have zipped & attached a copy of the one installed on my PC:

hi Curt !

I must try textarea cache, thanks for the tip & download. Lazarus doesnt work with the InfoQube forum (which uses html WYSIWYG as opposed to BB code).

On another topic:
A List of Stable, Non-Conflicting and Essential addons by ChessWriter: https://addons.mozil...ions/ChessWriter/my/
- a list of 683 addons.
I wonder how much ram I'd need to install all of them :D

Giving it a shot myself.  Lazarus can be a bit flaky at times.

I've tried Lazarus a couple of times (not updated since August 2011 + homepage unresponsive), but always went back to Textarea Cache because it's so simple to use, and consistent on all pages. I quite often start typing and then leave the page, planning to come back later - as an example I began this post a couple of hours ago, but went to watch a show, before finishing the post. So it's not enough for me to be protected against accidents, (my setup almost never crashes), I must have an incremental backup, which is exactly what Textarea Cache is offering can offer if you do the settings accordingly.

On another topic: A List of Stable, Non-Conflicting and Essential addons by ChessWriter: addons.mozilla.../ChessWriter
- a list of 683 addons...

-but only a list; there is no button to get them all in one swoop.

I didn't stop to think about the "683", but was plain excited to see that the first 3 pages included a lot of the addons I already was using. So it must be a good list...

-------------

What do you do, when you suddenly have a new addon installed, but you or Mozilla have never heard about it before?  :o

browser wizard free 5.8.0

I  have no idea what it is or where it came from - and there are no informations whatsoever. More than four addons have been updated since , so I don't know when exactly it was installed. So far, nothing weird has happened. I will not yet remove it, I want to first figure who brought it here.

Hmm, I put the button in the Statusbar.  Seemed ok.  Now I bring it up, no button in StatusBar, there is a warning in the AddOns Manager about "could not be verified with FF proceed with caution."  I put the button back in the StatusBar.  Voila.  Now I have 2 buttons.

Hmm, while replying I tried to do control-z and stuff got totally deleted.  I opened the window using the button and none of the options did anything.  I may have to,er, bring Lazarus back from the dead.  :(

Heh heh.  The worst part is the bill collectors know right away when you are back on the block.  :)
