I have recently purchased a PDA that runs Windows Mobile 6 and I would love to have the kind of information available about software to run on it that I have here with DonationCoder and my desktop computer.

Are you folks interested in getting a dedicated Pocket PC/Windows Mobile forum going here?

Or maybe you know of an existing forum elsewhere that is already established and that I should join.

I have the HTC Juno (aka T-Mobile Shadow) Smartphone.

I know you are talking about a PDA device, but, just like my phone, there are specialist sites for just about everything.

Is anyone familiar with similar sites for Palm OS? I have a Palm TX.

I'm a longtime handheld user, starting with Palm and now on my second PocketPC (an Axim x51v). I'd be interested in discussing PocketPC issues here -- but not as they relate to cell phones (which I hate).

One good PocketPC community is http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/

I'm all for discussing mobile OS stuff here, but I'd prefer if it wasn't a separate forum. I generally only check a single forum on each site I frequent, if the mobile threads aren't in the "General Software Discussion" forum I probably wont see them.

I have a Symbian phone and a Palm PDA (which I rarely use).

I have an older PocketPC that it's a bit tough to find stuff for. (freeware that is actually useful to me)

HP Jornada 540 (SH3, CE 3.0 (PPC-2000))

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone else owns one of these and has been able to figure out how to get it to sync with Vista (or Win7)

I am on XP now, but I have a feeling that if I upgrade, my Jornada is as good as trash.  :(

Though it concentrates on smartphones, xda-developers is an extraordinarily active Windows Mobile forum. Honestly much as I love DC it seems the definitive resource for the mobile platform to me.

Regarding Palm-OS: Game Over!

http://blog.wired.co...palm-os-is-dead.html

It's the End of the Road for Palm OS
By Priya Ganapati EmailFebruary 11, 2009

Palm will drop its long-in-the-tooth mobile operating system, Palm OS, in favor of the company's new Web OS, which will debut with its upcoming Pre phone.

Palm will focus on Web OS and Windows Mobile for all future devices, company CEO Ed Colligan told investors Wednesday.

Too bad. It was a nice little PDA OS. It was the perfect replacement/complement to a paper-based planner system like the DayTimer or Franklin.

Maybe it doesn't do a lot by today's web-enabled standards. But what it does do, it still does very well. 8)

I still use a steam-driven Palm IIIxe.

Mind you, I have less than no desire to monitor web pages with a system that I think offers a view akin to 'what the butler saw', nor do I want anyone trying to telephone or e-mail me when I'm not at my desk (if then).  That's what human PA's are for.

I was going to say yes- I have had a WM phone for years of one kind or another, and I had planned to get an HTC Fuze in the next month or so.  But I'm going over to the dark side and getting an iPhone.  :-[
