Tudumo discounted till March 20
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:37 AM »
Tudumo (tudumo.com), a superb to-do list program, which was recently released from beta, is being sold for $19.95 till March 20 - afterwards the price goes up to $29.95.

This program, which combines power and simplicity in an extraordinarily efficient and user-friendly package, also uses minimal resources - VERY highly recommended! (It does not displace traditional calendar/PIM software, but rather supplements them.)

Please note that I am in no way connected to the developer, just a very satisfied user who has been using the program since it was in beta, and hence happy to pass on the news to others who might want to take advantage of the discount, as I did.

Looks interesting
http://tudumo.com/screenshots/

there's almost no info apart from the screenshots - which in fairness do give a very good idea of programme

It seems to work along the GTD lines

when you say
(It does not displace traditional calendar/PIM software, but rather supplements them.)

would that not mean that you have to add the info to two different programmes?

Whether you have to add the info to different programs depends upon how you work. Thus, I use Tudumo to keep track of tasks which are not date-/time-dependent, and a calendar program for tasks which are date- and time-dependent, so there is no overlap.

Tudomo is a really nicely designed software. It offers very little interface but very effective feature set.

Ok, I've been playing with it for a bit -- and it's nothing short of beautiful.  It is clearly an application designed for a single purpose -- no clutter, nothing unecessary, and it's as keyboard friendly as it is mouse friendly. It's interface really seems to me to be the epitome of efficiency--which is exactly what you'd want from such an application. I love it.

BUT for me it's not practical. I do 99.9% of my thinking away from the computer; and thinking is when I populate my todo lists.  As Tudumo has no import feature and very limited export (csv only, atm), using it would require I jot things down elsewhere, then rewrite them into Tudumo. Which really isn't a viable option.  So for now, I'll continue to use Palm native solutions with desktop counterparts. . .

I really, really want to use TuDuMo . . . alas.

TuDuMo is simple and pretty, but very very limited.

ToDoList2 is massively powerful. Slightly brutal appearance, but very efficient to use and you can choose how much or how little to have on screen. A really great program. Really responsive developer. And free.

Yeah, its purpose -- it's an application with a single purpose. That was the appeal. I already have massively powerful :P
