The point of all these new online communities (facebook, DC
) is that they offer something that cannot be copied: the feeling of connection etc

facebook makes millions on ads. that seems to be the revenue for 99% of all sites that dont "sell" their users anything. this is the house that google built, and it seems like its the future for the web.
