Even my 4-year old uses Farr !
« on: December 17, 2007, 12:40 AM »
my son apparently observing my launching habits has used Farr to launch a game that i specifically told him not to play.. i had removed the icons from the desktop & start menu but when i saw him playing the game again, i was curious and my son enlightened me.. he told me that he looked for the 'F' icon in the tray, clicked on it & typed the first three words and the game's exe is on top of list and my son duly clicked on it to start the game.. ;D

on another note, why try not to allow him to play the game is because this game (Re-Volt) upon start-up throws up a language selection dialog each & every time and sometimes my son clicks on the non-English option and the whole interface is garbled! but then that is a rant for another thread..

after reading all your responses, i overcame my inertia and went poking into the game's install folder and found out that the language strings are in a text file and after some trial-and-error, managed to overwrite all the other language files with English.. now, my son can click on any language but only English is available.. so ladies & gentlemen, i present you..

In 2006 Canadian game publisher Throwback Entertainment acquired the license and publishing rights to Re-Volt and has confirmed a next-generation version is on the way

w00t! And I didn't know they made a sequel for the PS2. It seems that after all those years, the game is living a TrackMania-like second youth, with that vibrant community mentioned in the article.
