Strange Firefox Error:

I've never seen a Firefox error like this before. Does anyone have any ideas what it means?



My browser is set to accept cookies.

I think it is in a looping pattern therefore it is saying that. At least thats what it appears to me.

(I.E. Keeps redirecting to the same url.)

i've had that a few times, usually cleaning out the cache and trying again seems to fix it for me.

Nope same here - but you also can't see the site in Internet Explorer. In fact Firefox is more intelligent because it tries to diagnose the problem whereas IE just hangs waiting for the page to appear.

I have seen this error a few times - it is usually a problem with the website, scripting problem or a server routing problem.

If you have cleared your cache and still can't see it then I suggest you try again later and hope someone has noticed the site is not working!

Looking at the website home page works but you can't link to any of the posts or archives so I suspect there is a scripting issue on their server.

I've encountered a site or two where this error disappeared after I allowed cookies for the site. Not the one you posted though - accepting cookies doesn't help (FF 2.0.0.8).

Mine does the same thing too.

But this site really sounds like one of those get-rich-quick schemes.

I talked to the guy who made the latest post (Joshua Dallman) and he said the comment system broke with a WordPress version upgrade.

It's not a get rich quick scheme. It's a guy who has over 20 years experience in the video game industry giving advice on how to be successful. In the post I linked to, it even explains that going out on your own to do this can take years, and he likens it to learning to play an instrument. You practice a lot on your own and it can take a few years to get good enough to produce anything good enough other people want to listen to (or pay for!).

Nothing quick about a few years before first real sales start to happen.

I investigated and the problem is with the webserver/blog. The pages on that blog are returning a 302/redirect that is pointing back to itself, creating an infinite loop. Firefox is detecting this and throwing up the error message you are seeing. The webmaster/blogger will have to fix it on their side.

Thanks tinjaw. Though the article is dated Dec 10th, 2007, I swear I read it some months ago. Since it's gaming related, maybe you know from where?

It was there when I made this post the other day! In fact, I added the blog to my RSS reader and it is showing up there! I finally found a way to reproduce the article! It's in my Google Reader Shared Items.
