Automatic Screenshotter / Re: Automatic Screenshotter - auto delete options?
« Last post by mouser on June 19, 2018, 12:40 AM »
Is there a way to view all screen captures without going from one day folder to the next one?
That is one of the goals of the Mouser's Media Browser image browser that is built into Automatic Screenshotter.. But it still could use some usability improvements.

Screenshot Captor / Re: program is running in super small window on XPS13

Just updating to the newest version has fixed the issue, thanks!

Great!

The problem was probably fixed in version 4.10.1 on March 24, 2017, which was the first version to incorporate better support for high-dpi screens.

But even before you do that -- upgrade your version of Screenshot Captor!
Your screenshot shows you are using 4.12, and the current version is 4.29.  You are using a version that is like 3 years old.

First things first -- close the options and then click the square in the titlebar to maximize the screenshot captor window.
That won't help make the options dialog more readable, but at least it will make the main window better.

That's strange.. Can you elaborate a little bit -- do you mean you can make the window full size but the text is too small? Or do you mean the actual window is still tiny?

See the tab for "Capture Options" and look under "Screenshot Preservation" -- set those values higher.  I will add an option to disable that entire section soon.

Since 2007 we have held an annual event that we call NANY (New Apps for the New Year), where we ask the coders who hang out on DonationCoder to create some new piece of free software and share it with the world on January 1st of the new year.

NANY is really the funnest thing we do on this site, and it's one of the few times we can all play together.  There are no winners or losers, it's simply a celebration of programming and creating new software and sharing it with the world.  You can target any operating system (desktop or mobile) or even make a web-based tool.  It can be a game, utility, large application, whatever.  DC takes makes no claim on your software, it's just an event to encourage you to share a creation with others.  Best of all, everyone who participates gets a free commemorative coffee mug.

In my case it already has pre-selected my target window,
Yes this is one of the reasons that SC tries to identify the active window even when capturing the full screen

Try the "Grab Windows Object" capture type.

The first thing to try might be to see if there are hotkeys you could use that wouldn't trigger the tooltip to dissappear.

Assuming that fails, a delayed capture might be what you need so that you can trigger the capture first and THEN move to show the tooltip.  I will soon be adding a hotkey for that but for now you have to enable and disable the delay from the right click menu (delay time can be set in options).

You do give me an idea though, for adding a new kind of capture more that would take a bunch of screenshots in close succession, every time screen changed.  That would let you capture a bunch of screenshots and only keep the one with the tooltip.

You could try using my Automatic Screenshotter for a similar effect now.   This would be especially useful if you had a bunch of tooltips you wanted to capture.  The idea would be to run it, and then just trigger the showing of the tooltips, letting ASR take a new screenshot every time the screen changed.  Then you could just go explore all the screenshots and copy the ones you want.

I have a beta version to test to see if the problem is fixed:

I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if the problem is fixed.

Hi thomaz.

I will try to check into the visual anomolies -- the stuff with the start menu button might be tricky for me to handle.. I normally keep it on the other side of the monitor.

But this problem troubles me:
When i enable a secondary display it jumps to the secondary.
This should not happen and seems very annoying.. I'm trying to think how it might be happening and how to fix it..

Soundfiles are all of type wave in the sounds-folder.
Does automaticscreenshotter accept mp3-data?

I can't remember  :-[  Try it and let us know!

Screenshot captor: Where is the screenshots-folder?

If you open up the main Screenshot Captor window you will see the path to the current screenshot in the titlebar.
But perhaps the easiest way to do what you want is in the main Screenshot Captor window go to the "GoTo" main menu entry and choose the second entry, "Explore at current screenshot directory".
That will open windows explorer to the screenshot folder, where you can right-click and drag and drop the folder to the desktop to make a shortcut.

I was having the same problem, but changing an option in KeePass fixed it (or worked around it):
I needed to tick the option "Use 'Clipboard Viewer Ignore' clipboard format (not recommended)".

That is indeed an alternative solution for programs like KeePass.  In some ways it's a better solution because it should work with all well-behaved programs that monitor the clipboard.  But of course it's not a generic solution since other programs you might want to ignore don't have an option to set that flag when they put material on the clipboard.

For some reason, if this option is unticked, the password is stored in CHS but listed as the result of another process (seemingly the process that is activated when the KeePass window is minimized).

Ah ha, well that could explain the problem.  I can implement something more clever to handle such situations.  Putting it at top of my todo list and will try to have a fix in next week.

This is the first post in the new dedicated forum section for the Automatic Screenshotter program.

I'd like to add more features to the program so I'm looking forward to hearing more ideas and bug reports.

Originally Automatic Screenshotter was part of the NANY 2016 event and most discussion occurred in that forum section: https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=42090

Hi KodeZwerg -- I'm happy to see you are going to contribute to NANY event.

But you've posted in the NANY 2018 section -- but the NANY 2018 event is over.  What you want to do is wait until NANY 2019, which will probably be opened up around september or so.

Not an uncommon mistake, it can be confusing how we call these things.  Bottom line, NANY 2019 is our next event and you have a few months to wait until its open.
