I can't help U. :-[  But I agree that a replacement for the entire Windows copying method is required.

It also bugs me when you move a folder & Windows tells you "A folder of the same name already exists.  If you continue the files will be overwritten."  A simple autorenaming function would save so much hassle.

202
If a filename already exists how difficult would it be to automatically compare the files' checksums.  If they are the same then just delete the moved file.  If they are different then automatically rename the moved file.

203
I've wished 4 something like this 4 ages also.  I'd prefer that files could just have a numeral attached to the end of the filename if that could B made an option.

eg picture.jpg becomes picture2.jpg

Yes I am.  Clever boy.

I also noticed that when WinAmp is not minimized all 5 of my WinAmp windows (player, playlist editor, media library, video & lyrics) are displayed seperately on the taskbar.  Is it possible to prevent this also?

Thanx again.

I'm also using XP SP2.  The new version still causes the same problem 4 me.  I'm running the exe version.

It's causing my Start Menu to generate a button on the TaskBar.  Can this be fixed or do we have to live with it?

This will become one of those programs that people can't live without.

Well done Skrommel.

The audio properties aren't the main reason I thought this would be usefull.  Windows Explorer displays audio properties in details view so I didn't think it would be hard to implement.  I use the thumbnail view in Windows Explorer though so I don't get to see any properties at all.  I haven't come across an alternative file explorer that can handle thumbnails as well as Windows Explorer.

When I want to compare the properties of 2 files I must rightclick one file & select properties.  A dialog is opened but this is not listed on the task bar so when I do the same thing to the second file I lose the first dialog.  I have to minimise Windows Explorer to find the first dialog & then position the 2 dialogs for comparison.

In a perfect world I would be able to select multiple files & rightclick one to select "Compare Files" from the context menu.  A window (that is not loseable) would open that lists the properties of the files for easy comparison.  I work with a lot of multimedia files so I'd love to see things like "track duration" & "bit rate" etc in addition to standard properties.

Thanx 4 looking.

The gap between pictures is dead time.  I had envisioned that the pictures would be in contact when I made the initial suggestion.  I think it would look cool to fill the screen with pictures that scroll sometimes in random directions.

When I close ZoomSaver the memory is instantly recovered.  You can download the free version of CacheMan here if you wish to see for yourself.  http://www.outertech.com

Hey Skrommel.

Cool (as always)!

Is it possible to not have a gap between the pictures?  So that they actually touch?

When a picture is paused & you press the right arrow to go to the next picture the current picture stays paused.  Can you make it unpause & go straight to the next picture with just the one keystroke?

In random mode the previous image is not remembered so you cannot use the left arrow key to go back to it.  Is it possible to have a setting to remember the last 20 (?) pictures?

I use CacheMan to monitor the amount of free memory on my system.  After running ZoomSaver for 5 minutes the free memory drops from 500MB to 80MB.

Thanx again.

I've lost the file that I couldn't use a download manager for.  Next time I come across 1 I will post the address in this thread.

Hi guys.

I use GetRight already.  Not all files on the web R allowed 2 B downloaded with a download manager.  So U have 2 use the regular download method.

I suppose clearing the cache is the easiest short term fix.

Thanx.

I don't know.  I use Maxthon.

If a connection 2 a server that U R downloading a file from is interrupted Windows saves the file 2 disk even if it is not complete.  If U try & redownload the file Windows sees the file in the cache & assumes that it has already been downloaded so just keeps dishing up the cached version of the file which, of course, is incomplete.

I know there R download managers that resume broken downloads but download managers don't work 4 every file on the web.

Searching 4 a file in the cache & manually deleting it is a very tedious task.  Would there B a way 2 rightclick the link & delete or overwrite the file?

Thanx 4 looking.

Hey Mouser.

Glad U think so.

Can I ask in advance 4 an option that 50% of the time displays a mirror of a picture instead of the original.  This provides some variety & also I am learning 2 draw & I find being able 2 C pictures forward & reversed helps the mind decipher what it is seeing.  If that makes any sense. :-[

I may B getting ahead of myself.  I don't know how far anyone wants 2 pursue this.  But, I would love it if this screensaver could function as a slideshow.  That way if a displayed picture gets your attention U can use the arrow keys 2 go back through the pictures 2 get 2 it.  Then use the Delete key 2 send a picture 2 the recycle bin.  Then another key 2 continue the slideshow (maybe P for pause/continue?).

Hi guys.

There R many screensavers that display pictures in a folder & it's subfolders.  What I would like 2 C is 1 that scrolls along the longest axis of a picture.

For example, some pictures on the page http://www.graffiti.org/peru/peru_6.html R much longer than they R high.  The screensaver I currently use fits the pictures 2 the screen but this means the detail cannot B seen.  The picture http://www.graffiti....rg/peru/peru_008.jpg falls into this category.  It would B great if the picture would B zoomed in 2 fit the height & then scrolled.

Thanx 4 looking.

Hi skrommel.

I've noticed something else.  I thought it may help you trace the bug.

When using Ctrl+C to copy & you get the "Empty Selection" tooltip the selection is not copied to the ClipStep clipboard.  However, if you then use the context menu right-click paste you will notice that the content has been copied & pasted!

Also, when using Ctrl+C to copy & I get the "Empty Selection" tooltip if I hold down the keys, after a while, it will eventually copy despite some "Same Selection" & "Empty Selection" tooltips.

No!  Thankyou! ;)

ps
Can you prevent the "Cancel" tooltip from dissapearing after 1 second.  So that it is visible as long as the Ctrl key is depressed.

Can you disable the "Pasting clip #" tooltip.  It is more distracting than informative since you can see that something else has been pasted.

Thanx again.

Another bug.

It's taken me a long time to find the cause of the bugs but I think I have another worked out.

These conditions must B satisfied:
The last text copied using Ctrl+C has already been pasted using Ctrl+V.
You then use Ctrl+V to scroll beyond the first clip but then use Ctrl+X to cancel.
Now, when you use Ctrl+C to copy something else, the tooltip "Empty Selection" is displayed.
To reset the clipboard you must paste using Ctrl+V any clip except the first.
