could you make an adapted version for my problem  :-[
I have used a couple of programs (since deleted) one was a calculator and it left the numlock down. this messed up my keys!  As i am on a laptop there is no light indicator so I didnt realize what the problem was. When I did realize I couldnt turn it off!  then I found out you have to press the Fn key and the numlock key together on a laptop.
a altered script that would alert me the numlock was on and offer to turn it off by pressing fn and numlock for you would be great. But would that be too hard for a laptop as maybe the scan codes vary for numlock? maybe a ini file where you could put in the scan codes for your pc?

« on: April 06, 2011, 04:55 AM »
@ScanCode,   the batch file you posted.  Where does it create the folder structure.
I mean if I have the text fie  and the batch file in this folder eg
C:\test folder
will it create the folder structure inside this test folder or on the root drive?

I think the later version where you
Added configurable delay before hibernating/standby.
+ Added configurable delay before rebooting.
is more confusing to people not very good with computers. I think the simpler version was better. Maybe there could be an extra settings tab/button?

a related issue is the dreaded numlock.   I tried out a calculator program and somehow it set numlock to on and left it like that.  I use a laptop and so there is no light showing to warn you. I couldnt get it back to normal and some of my keys were messed up. I eventually found I had to press the FN key and the numlock key together.
A script that alerts me when numlock is on and gives me the option to turn it off would be great! :-*

well that would certainly increase the usage of FARR as python is so popular and probably the easiest to pick up.

60
I just gave Keybreeze a try and came running back to FARR! Having said that though, it has a nice feature. Typing keyword "note" allows you to create a post-it style desktop note. I know FARR has addnote/viewnote, but this desktop sticky note is pretty cool.
I second that, I am finding I am using keybreeze just for this reason.
I also think that if you could integrate FARR with a simple app (one small .exe) like Diana, which is a very small and simple calendar/with memo feature that would me great.

Find And Run Robot / waiting for a better reason to update

To be honest I haven't updated my version since  2.0.0.140   as there hasnt been any features added that I feel I want and this version works fine so cant see any reason to change it.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Macro Express - MiniReview

I tried Macro Express pro but prefer Vtask studio - however I now find I dont use either as Autohotkey does everthing I want and has more options/flexibility. IT's also free.

Edit, hey its great for use with firefox! just move the mouse to the side and you go back a page!

this is a link to the youtube video where i saw the sticky note feature of Keybreeze being demonstrated. You have to wait till two thirds of the way through before he gets to the note part. Its pretty cool though with timed notes etc.
youtube video

ok testing it now, sound quality good, uses 32mb and 8.5 mimizimed. Seems good though.
Aimp uses 7mb and less than 3 minimized

66
I still like AIMP(2) , I might give winamp a try if someone can tell me how much memory it uses, maximized

What's the Best? / text encryption app/script?
« on: December 10, 2010, 11:54 AM »
I know there are plenty of encryption apps that let you right click a folder and encrypt the contents or use a hidden drive etc.  What I am looking for is a simple app or script that makesit easy for you to make some text you are sending to a friend in an email unreadable to anyone else without the key/password to decrypt it. So the receiver will also need the same simple app on their pc.   Ideally you would be able to just highlight the text in your emal and press encrypt or a keyboard shortcut and maybe type in a password.

Thanks thats good to know, I must have forgotten about it or maybe you didnt cover it in your youtube demo?
Now all FARR is missing is a good sticky note plugin. I know there is a note plugin but a sticky note you can have show on the desktop and even set a timer on it, now that would be something.

Find And Run Robot / does FARR have a paste text feature?
« on: December 09, 2010, 10:23 AM »
I use texter (or sometimes another ahk script) that allows me to past often used text into notepad.
I set it up so that I just type em and it will insert my email address, or time to insert the date and time
can you do that with FARR or a plugin?

Living Room / Re: Desktop Linux: The dream is dead
« on: November 03, 2010, 07:46 AM »
It's the programs stupid!

I only stick with windows (xp) because the big program makers, (among my fav. progs are ADobePhotoshop and premiere) dont make progs for linux varieties.  I know you can slip into some sort of emulation etc. but I am not interested in having to do that every time I want to use photoshop!   If a few of the big prog makers made a version for linux I would have changed long ago. As it is I doubt I ever will

And don't forget to check out the self-teaching programming school on the DonationCoder forum -- it was designed with one purpose in mind, to help motivate people to teach themselves how to program.  Some people find it quite fun!
wow I have been coming to this site for ages and didnt know you had an Autohotkey section!

73
I think it would be good if you could add a certain header to your ahk script that AXEM would read and this would signify that you wanted this script ignored by axem.   This would mean that you could leave all your scipts in one folder and wouldnt have to move ones that you wanted ignoring.
I dont know what that header would be  "noAXEM"  ??

Finished Programs / Re: DONE: ALT-TAB edge of the screen (new)
« on: September 23, 2010, 02:56 PM »
I've been trying to change the code, could anyone help me do 2 things:

1. Invoke ALT + TAB when at the right edge of the screen
2. Have the program work not on the whole edge, but on a certain part (eg. the middle)

Thanks
I agree, with me it keeps activating when I am just trying to use the back arrow key in Firefox.  Therefore I would also like it to concentrate on the middle section of the edge and not the top and bottom.
