Thanks Mouser I'd definitely deleted the comment slashes and definitely fully closed FARR.

I've decided to uninstall and go with the portable beta instead.

Thank you @IanB

I tried that (even though I used the regular installer not the portable version) and it didn't appear to work - although FARR didn't create a new folder in my OneDrive. A filename search revealed the config files had now appeared in the Program Files (x86) folder.

Still, that's as good a place as any, so I closed, copyied the correct files over, and restarted, and all is working now.

So I've got the  a result that I wanted, even though I'm not quite sure how :)

3
Just reinstalled Windows 10 and as I'm using a Live account W10 has set the My Documents folder to my OneDrive
[environment]::getfolderpath("MyDocuments")
returns
C:\Users\katykaty\OneDrive\Documents

So FARR is storing config files in OneDrive, which I don't want, especially because the troubleshooting log often has trouble syncing.

So I closed FARR and edited the ConfigDir.ini file by adding the following line at the end, without comment slashes
CONFIGDIR=C:\Users\katykaty\AppData\Roaming\DonationCoder\FARR\Config

Copied all the config files across and removed the initial config folder on OneDrive.

But FARR seems to be ignoring this and has created a new 'first run' folder in OneDrive.

I can obviously close and move the config files back so I don't lose my settings, but what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Throw it away. The time you'll spend removing the partition is worth more than a bit of USB memory.

Legend has it that someone once asked Bernard Edwards of Chic what strings he used for his bass.

He turned to Nile Rodgers and asked "What kind of strings come on a MusicMan bass?"

If you're a genius, you'll make anything sound great :)

I'm in 2 minds about this upgrade. It's hard to see what killer improvement is there, especially when it costs AUS$50 for the upgrade.

But then again, it's DO. Got to have DO. Can't not have DO :)

ASAP Utilities has a function to create an index sheet with named links to each worksheet. You could easily take that list, select and copy all, and paste as values.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Google Reader - Mini-Review
« on: October 29, 2013, 07:03 PM »
I know this is digging up an old thread, but things have been happening since the last activity.

Specifically, Feedly have opened up their API, so Beyondpod can act as a Feedly client. So once again I have free choice over which app on which device I can read an article.  :)

I don't use this software, so maybe I haven't really understood exactly what's going on, but I'm really impressed by the way the developer has managed to antagonise a major section of his customers by offering them a 90% discount!

Current: you wait a year until the update comes along, pay $25, get the latest version with a year's worth of updates.
Future: you wait a year, ignoring interim updates which simply wouldn't have been there before, subscribe, pay $2.50, get the latest version with a year's worth of updates, cancel subscription.

Have I got that wrong?

I don't really care about losing Google Reader the app.

What I care about is losing Google Reader the cloud service, so when I read an article in Feedly on my PC, it gets marked as read in Beyondpod on my phone.

Easy solution is to use Keepass, create a unique password for each site, then just hit CTRL-ALT-A to automatically type the username and password into each site.

My mother has a different maiden name on each site I have a login  :)

You have a favourite password?  :o

I hope no site you use ever gets hacked.

The free version of Winpatrol lets you delay startup applications.

What's wrong with just setting up a mapped network drive that points deep enough down into the folder structure?

Use meaningless symbols for your navigation, and make them try to jump out of the way of your mouse when you hover near them.

From what I read about her she's a nut job (and she looks the part).  Considering she makes her views public, any opposing views shouldn't be Censored, even if it is satirical or mean.  That's the price you pay for going public, you are a public figure....
Would it make a difference if she didn't look like 'a nut job'?

What does the course tutor say? They may be prepared to share the source documents.

It's amazing how they redeveloped a new look for the BBC in just a week since Win8.
Yes, anyone would think that design had been knocking around for at least a year before Win 8 got previewed  ;)

Hell in the UK children have to be taught about 'citizenship' in schools - it is now a compulsory subject - but NO ONE in the UK is a CITIZEN - we are all SUBJECTS of the crown (if you are from the UK and don't believe me look in your Passport). Citizenship classes in schools should consist of a one line statement on day one of school "there is no such thing as a UK citizen"! There done, now lets get on with speaking the Queen's English.

This is an urban myth Carol. I don't know what's in your passport, but mine says I'm a British Citizen.

British accents so interesting, the English sound track had to have English subtitles:

Snatch

Unfortunately a lot of violence but off-beat funny.

Or you can watch the same movie here in just a minute and 40 seconds  :D

It's hitting a low point.  Now when I try to Send an email from hotmail, it wants me to identify a Captcha!! And I'm already logged into the thing!

Why don't we just have thumb print and get it over with instead of this annoying crap?

Do a retinal eye scan. Just don't ask to me guess what some garbled crap spells!

Ah, so that's why Outlook's stopped picking up my hotmail :)

3½ years ago I was searching for a video decompiler, picture extractor, and found one at http://www.softwareclub.ws/ The site is still as it was then, nothing has changed. Terrible muzak, unless maybe if you are a (censored for the sake of world peace).

scroll down and click the microscopic "sound on/off" - it will always be on when you enter:

(see attachment in previous post)

And it'll turn itself back on as you navigate through the site. Dismal.
