KlipKeeper 0.5.0.7 (Updated September 25th, 2009)
KlipKeeper monitors the clipboard and keeps track of all text items copied to it.
Activate the plugin to search past items and quickly recopy to clipboard.

Click for the KlipKeeper web page with more info!

Please extract it to a directory named KlipKeeper in the FARR2 Plugins
directory or if you already have it you may use DcUpdater to update it.

If you have any questions/comments/bugs let me know.

*Recovering time...* Well, now you're extending FARR into broad territory, basically implementing a minor but quite useful function that should be included as a default with Windows. Not only that, but you're also relieving some people of a program in the systray, and you're leaving other ones without a job!

Really cool plugin!

Paste to active window would be an excellent enhancement indeed

Won't replace CHS quite yet, but if there's a way to manipulate clips (UPPER/lowercase, etc) then maybe. Predefined clips should be possible through aliases if I'm not mistaken (haven't played with aliases much, but the default and the ones I've downloaded here are awesome!).

Ha, now I know why I didn't get it. I couldn't figure out how to use the plugin because I was trying to paste it after the clip and it wouldn't work. I guess that is because it isn't an option yet.

Note about PS2: After first install use the DcUpdater (which is why initial download doesn't include a folder) as it would mess up DcUpdater.

Paste will come later. Right now it just copies the entry back to clipboard upon launching of item.

Updated to 0.3.0.1 which includes among the other updates listed in the readme optional play sound on klip copy. If you have downloaded before and use DcUpdater then you can download the update that way and if you dont then you will have to manual update it.

This is awesome, thanks!

Feature requests:

1. record a timestamp (it would be really neat if you could search by timestamp and display it in the FARR main window)
2. Export saved clips to file
3. Picture support (don't know how you would display it... but it would be neat!)

Also, don't forget to check out jgpaiva's link to another thread about clipboard managers for other ideas. In particular, the stack feature would be nice... don't know how this would operate "within" FARR, but a stack would come in so handy.

I also like the idea of a paste in last opened window command.

The more I think about it, the main reason I never really use clipboard extenders is because they lack a stack option. Most of the time I want to copy some things, then paste them in some order. LIFO, FIFO, the option would be nice. Normal extenders make this tedious by always having to chose which clip you want. But, if you could copy a bunch of clips, then paste, paste, paste, no re-selecting, no pop-up menus once you got started... this would be awesome.

just a heads up: i'm experiencing a crashing issue with klipkeeper on exit of FARR, and another new clipboard copy error -- should have a fix tonight if all goes well. Just letting you know in case you experience it.

Another useful tip is that you could make with FARR2's new hotkey system is that you can automatically bring up KlipKeeper with a hotkey. (For Example: You could add to FARR2's hotkey system "Win + Space" and be ready to search for a klip or to copy a klip.) Enjoy!

Hmm, for some days now when starting FARR I get a message box telling me 'The file "klipkeeper_data.dat" is not a valid KlipKeeper data file!'. I keep deleting the file, but then after some more cycles of shuting down and again starting my computer and FARR it returns.
It has now content at that time (0 Bytes).

Ok updated to 0.5.0.6!

In 0.5.0.6 I added a file backup method that hopefully will work to allow you to at least restore a good version manually. If you could update and try it out and see how it works and let me know then it will be most useful.

The old free version of ClipCache, 1.41, lets you define a pair of hotkeys that let you step up and down through the clip list, popping up a tooltip as you go so you can see where you are. You press Ctrl-V when you get to the right one to paste it, as normal. I haven't tried recent shareware versions of ClipCache.

ArsClip, also free, has a form mode, which seems to be fairly similar. It also supports keystrokes and commands in its permanent clips, so you can automate formfilling, send dates, etc. Disclaimer: I haven't tried either feature.
