This should be one of the news in v2.33.01 but this does not look as expected. Look at the first image notepad.png. notepadOK.png on the other hand looks more like it should.

I've just started using this as my primary screenshot application, and it's pretty nice. I think jtbworld is right that Screenshot Captor should automatically include Vista's shadow as well, but what would be super awesome is if it handled Vista screenshots more like Window Clippings:
http://www.windowcli...ngs.com/Screenshots/

I love how nice the screenshots look in that program, but I hate the lack of editing that is included.

I will for sure fix the transparency capture of windows in vista -- and i'll try to do it in the next week or so.

Right now, SC has it's own shadow button (you can also set it to always apply a shadow during capture), but i'll take a closer look at windowclippings and see what else might be useful.

Notice also the strange thing when taking the snapshot of a small Notepad.exe window.

I have a fix for vista rounded-skin type capturing (like the screenshots above suggest). i'm just going to test it for a day or two and then upload.  it also fixes that weird capture bug you showed in your last screenshot where the window image looks messed up.

i appreciate that jtbworld.

I took the chance and uploaded the new version with a bunch of vista fixes:
  • VistaFix: Better capture of vista aero glass rounded windows
  • VistaFix: Better checking for if screenshot directory is writable (and figures out an alternative if not); good for dealing with vista evilness.
  • VistaFix: ScreenshotCaptor now explicitly avoids all evil Vista virtualization (see my post here).
  • VistaFix: Default screenshot folder on vista is now in user profile.
  • VistaFix: Installer no longer offers to run program after installation due to more vista uglyness.
  • BugFix: Sometimes the entire screen was being pre-selected after a capture.
  • MinorFeature: Added more magic wand selection modes (See Edit->Selection Mode menu).

It's available now via the updater.
But it's possible that i should have given this to a few beta testers before releasing it.  If i need to try some more stuff i'll contact you directly.

ps. see my recent rant against vista here.

ps.
the vista semi-transparent (aero glass) capture is not quite perfect yet -- basically it is able to detect the curved boarders pretty well (which means it can add appropriate shadows, etc.) but the boundries are sharp because it doesnt preserve the actual transparency of the skin.  it is possible to capture this transparency and i will add that eventually.

Anyone want to report yet on the improved vista masking of active window captures?

Is it possible to set the corners to be with white background or transparent?
