Secondary monitor support
« on: June 22, 2007, 04:25 AM »
I'm trying out Launchbar commander but I can't get the bar to appear on my second monitor. As it doesn't have a taskbar I though it would be an excellent place for the launchbar. Is it possible?

slightly, off-topic.. but if you want the taskbar extended to the 2nd monitor, try UltraMon..

• Smart Taskbar
UltraMon adds an additional taskbar for each secondary monitor, and each taskbar only shows tasks from the monitor it is on. This makes managing lots of open applications much easier, and when activating an application, you'll know on which monitor it will appear.

If you move your taskbar onto the secondary screen, the Launchbar menus that pop up from the systray will pop up on the secondary screen.  At the same time, the Launchbar floating docks will stay on the primary screen (they won't move over, even if the taskbar is on the secondary screen).

Works now, just testing and making sure monitor number is remembered and that it behaves well if monitor count changes midstream.

Should be in next LBC release this weekend or early next week at the latest.

Can I just say thank you to those who were patient waiting for this feature but still did not stop reminding me to implement it.  Like most things it was actually easier to implement than i expected and i wish i hadn't put it off for so long, as the code will be useful in other projects.

One of the best things about this site from my standpoint is how fun and useful it is to engage in these interactions with users that lead to better programs

Please see latest beta (1.71.01) for the first LBC release which supports multimonitor docks.  Please let me know how it works for you.
