Looks interesting Dopus does something similar now, but it highlights only the text, not the icon.

I was wanting to do that with the text on folders. What/where is "Dopus"?

DOpus = Directory Opus from GPSoftware. It's a Windows Explorer replacement (if you want it to) and an extremely powerful file manager.

Thanks, Darwin. Interesting ... but certainly not cheap!

Anybody know another way to change the text colors, etc. on folder and/or file names in Windows Explorer??

No - you're right, not cheap (but worth every penny in my opinion). Note that there is a Donationcoder discount that is active on DOpus...

i wish i could say that but i'm on another PC and i used WinSnap which runs from my flash drive. ;)
