Anyone ever get Lasik eye surgery
« on: September 03, 2005, 10:03 AM »

I got that laser eye surgery over a month ago and have to say it's very freakin cool.
Speaking from a perspective of someone who was totally dependant on glassess
I highly recommend it.It cost about a grand, put it on the card.I still find myself going
to push up glassess that aren't there :)The first thing before bed, take glassess
off,the first thing when i woke up,put glassess on,for a good 15 years or so.
Just thought i'd share for anyone thinking of having it done.

Strange tidbit,in the waiting room they were showing a bootleg of Batman Begins(on DVD!)

maybe they figured the eye patients wouldn't be able to tell the difference?

I'm afraid I've never had it done personally, but talking to a friend who went through the procedure nearly 15 years ago he claims it is the best thing he ever did.  His night vision is fine and has had no ill effects since it was done.  He couldn't see an elephant a metre from his face before that point.  If that isn't a glowing endorsement then I don't know what is.  He did say there was a rather nasty burning smell from the laser singeing his eyeball.

Frankly I'd be pretty freaked out if anyone went near my eyes, let alone with a rather powerful laser.

A friend of mine had it done fairly recently (in Toronto) and was very pleased indeed. He said that the process was less offputting than anticipated.

Oh don't get me wrong i was terrified. And yeah the laser still kicks up an oder, scary.
There is actually a point where you go blind, but like the docter tells you as soon
as you can say i can't see ,you can see again that and they're continously drowning
your eye in liquids. You get results the next day,but it took me a good month to be
well, tolerable to be around >:(When something goes wrong with a body part,
especially one you depend so much on you can be a very evil person. But all is well,no regrets.
