On Screen Status Display
« on: April 14, 2007, 06:08 AM »
ok has anyone used a Logitech Keyboard with volume controlor a Microsoft one for that fact, well wen the drivers are installed long with the software, if you change the volume it shows up in the on Screen as to what volume level you are at.

now i have a new wireless creative keyboard but they dont supply any software with that sort of functionally, so i was wondering could someone do something like this.

basically it is a display that  shows on screen the status of the volume, the logitech one is best it is a big green thing at the bottom, it has VOLUME and underneath that a bar that changes when the volume changes, the windows one is a little window thing with it in but it looks ugly. Although i have found programs that do this the problem is that they dont stay underneath a game if it is running they take focus and the game minimizes, it is poor. But still you want the status to display ontop of programs like a web browser or media player just not in the game.

if anyone can make something like this it would be greatly appreciated :D

thx, anyway

Volumouse is great (for adjusting screen brightness as much as for volume) but I don't think if does exactly what the originator is asking with the keyboard.

I haven't tested it extensively, but from memory this one should do what you're after...

3RVX is a skinnable volume controller and display that supports alpha-blended skins, cool fade effects, drive eject notification, and a lot more. It was originally developed to emulate the Mac OS X volume bezel on Windows, but has evolved to support more options and features.
