Request: Auto print
« on: August 14, 2005, 10:56 AM »
For "On Capture" tab and Tray menu

i wanna suggest this two new check boxes:

[X] Auto save        (for to disable the auto save feature one won't want)
[ ] Auto print        (for to automaticly access the standard printer dialog box for every capture)

and maybe
[ ] ASK                  (for to see an dialog box "[Save as...] [Print...] [Cancel]")

Sometimes someone wanna not modify and store the screenshots
but print them out immediately (e.g. to give away or store for documentation issues).

i can add an auto print checkbox, that seems reasonable.

as for auto save options - i think these already exist - you can tell screenshot captor to automatically always ask you, or never ask you.
let me know if you mean something different.

the idea of bringing up a dialog to let user choose what to do is interesting, especially if it showed all the user tools in the menu..

I only see [General Settings] Save /overwrite

I mean [On Capture Genaral]

an option to auto save the capture to disk or not (for to just print only, .. or to "save as..." on me own)

Or miss i smtg ?

If you plan to implement this "Auto Print"

i wan to modify my suggestions to optional show the print dialog box:

[X] Auto save        (for to disable the auto save feature one won't want)
[ ] Auto print        (for to automaticly print the picture without dialog)
[ ] show Print dialog    (access the standard printer dialog box for every capture)
[ ] ASK                  (for to see an dialog box "[Save as...]  [Print]  [Print dialog...]  [Cancel]")

This way one could print out immediately.

I just downloaded Screenshot Captor on the advice of a friend to replace Snag It, and it's a great program so far!  However I ran into one problem, and found this thread, but I was wondering if you extend this usage.

I had Snag It set up for my wife so that as soon as she hit the capture hotkey, it would invisibly and seamlessly print to the Windows default printer, no dialogs, no having to choose anything.  I don't want to throw her off too badly with the positioning dialog that Screenshot Captor shows.  Is there a way to modify the Auto Print to not show that position dialog, and just send the image to the printer?

Thanks!

to disable the "position dialog" choose "Stay Minimized" option in the "On Capture" tab (see pic)..

lanux, i think you misread his question.

JOpager is asking for something that has been asked before:
to let the print option not show the print dialog.

As noted, sc can be told to auto print, but it still shows the print dialog.

I think this is a feature i am ready to add and i'm trying to wrap up some updates soon so keep you eye open for an sc update with this feature in the next week or so.
