BIOS flashing scares the crap out of me!
« on: July 29, 2005, 03:40 AM »
Having major surgery? That's nothing compared to the feeling I get working on my system. Installed some faster memory in my machine today and had to flash/update my BIOS to recognize it. I've never had a bad experience with BIOS flashes, but it's the one thing that makes me physically shake when doing it. I got so anxious waiting for the machine to fully reboot after 20 seconds of heart monitor-like beeps that I didn't breathe the whole time.

funny, scary and true.

i've flashed the wrong bios a couple of times. thankfully it's not such a problem if you've done a backup of the original bios first. i wouldn't risk doing it any other way.
