Thanks - that has fixed that problem.

Actually I still have another problem.

If I set "Start with windows" and "Start Minimized" in options then next time Windows starts up the application loads (but does not minimize).

Also when loaded the two tick boxes have been unchecked in options and so on subsequent restarts it doesn't load at all.

Opening and closing the programme doesn't have this effect - it is just on reboot.

I don't think it is a problem with my registry not saving as other apps manage to save settings in the registry.

Any ideas?

Strange - it seems to have cured itself.

Maybe it was a glitch on my system ....

i'll look into it anyway since it could be that im not loading the settings from the application directory on reboot.

( the new version will lose settings of the old version when i moved to a separate options dialog, so if those options were checked in the old version then they would be cleared on first start).

I don't think it was a version issue as the same problem happened with the previous version too.

Hey mouser, could you look into that scrolling bug in the clip history window as well?  It makes things pretty confusing when you have a lot of clips.   Quick history: the scroll bar moves you to a different clip (rather than scrolling the listbox) when using the mouse.  Not a big issue, though I have no idea what the fix involves!  Whatever you deem worthwhile,

yes - CHS is going to have a totally revamped clip list and all the problems with that clip list are going to be fixed, i promise. i'm aiming for a major improvement by monday.  the problem is very annoying i agree.

I'll look into losing the startup options, probably something simple.

ps.

Sorry, being retarded here, should have included this in the last post.  Is there an option to either get rid of tabs or convert them to spaces?  I know there is the Find Replace bit, but how do you tell it to look for tabs? (This question addresses tabs occuring within a line, not a prefix or suffix tab)

yes there is, and the new help file with this version tells you how.

just use \t for tab
and \n for newline

Just saw the post, mouser, and replied.  However, while we're talking about CHS, figured I'd bring up a visuals bug.  I think it's even reproducible!  Copy a long text string from a word processor (or any program really).  A clip long enough that you have to scroll in the right hand pane.  Now make sure it has a bunch of spelling errors in it.  As you scroll up and down, there is a certain point where the red lines shift up a line.  If you stop the scrolling, the lines are all weird as you highlight them with your mouse.  It's almost as if they are offset from where they should be.  If you grab the scroll handle and scroll slow enough you should be able to actually see the jump occur.  Let me know if you need more info.  Oh, and this occurs with the latest version, 1.02.04).

i'm going to try some alternative editor components, especially some with better undo functionality. i'll check this bug in the process.
