Frozen Bubble - Now available in Flash!
« on: October 10, 2006, 06:31 PM »
 ;D Oh, Happy Day! ;D

My favorite Linux game is now in a flash version (and it's much faster than the either the Java Version or the Windows port)

If a flash game is faster than a native windows port, those developers must suck >_<

I love this game...and there are so many versions and variations of this classic available for Windows...and in flash or java applets. And I think I love them all.

I have had the full Windows DX version of this Java game for many years:

here is another version in flash:

I can't find the one I was playing yesterday.  :(

Found these today:

This one features a stripping girl and I have no idea how far she will strip: http://www.planetbor...et/player.php?id=898

I wonder how many other versions we can find.  :tellme:

Actually, after playing the real game in Linux, it seems the flash port is artificially accelerated. I suppose one could change the animation speed settings in the source and recompile if desired. It is written in Perl and SDL so it's not a normal porting to windows issue...

Thanks app, I knew it was a derivative, so I'll have to try them all as well, but...

Another good find app!
But I think my favorite (and most addictive) is still the original Frozen Bubble  :-*
besides, none of them have Ayo's wonderful Penguin Art to add to the experience

I am amazed at this game, the idea that is written in perl and the sourcecode is available.

As an old perl hand this is very intriguing
