thanks for the nice words elpresi.
i'm always looking to hear ways we can improve the software on this site - and there are lots more things planned for F&R (see the ToDo list in the F&R help file).

if you look around the forums youll find that i take bug reports and feature suggestions VERY SERIOUSLY.
in fact this forum has been the main source of ideas for programs like F&R robot and Screenshot Captor.

also let's not forget, once we build a good default set of regular expression alias groups i think F&R is going to get a whole new life.

(see this thread for more info: https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=855.0)

I've been trying to make sense of the thread you pointed to, Mouser, but with little luck.  I think I'm the kind of punter who will have to wait for someone else to work these things out so that I can just type 'g donationcoder' and get a Google search page up - as you can in AR.  This is an edge of paradox, isn't it: power users really thrive on the adaptability of some apps, and find the more fixed options of the alternatives really frustrating and limiting; but newcomers can struggle to just get what they need to work.

99% of people will not want to create their own regular expression group aliases, which is what that thread was about -
however, what i was trying to say was just what you were asking for, which is that soon F&R will come with a
PREDEFINED BIG SET of commands which should blow away these commands built into approcked, and it will be easy for users to share them.

here's an example:
1) download the file: https://www.donation...wnloads/aliases1.ini
2) go to F&R options, and from Import&Export menu, choose import and then browse to and select that aliases1.ini file

you will now have some new commands in your F&R:
imdb -> to get info on web about a movie just type: imdb [MOVIENAME]
search -> to run one of several web searchs just type: search [SEARCH WORDS]
define -> to run a web dictionary search on a word type: define [SEARCH WORDS]
www -> to go to any site just type the site url (for example www.donationcoder.com)

so not only does f&r give you the ability to make your own commands but you can easily share them and we will try to build a big set for inclusion with F&R version 2.

these commands are all defined as aliases so you can go see what they look like (and modify them) after you import them in the last page of the options dialog.

Wow!  That's great.  Ooh, AppRocket is looking a little pale over there...

Tried AppRocket once... liked it at first, then it got annoying and left my system. When I found FFR, I was in love at first sight and I still consider it one of the most useful apps I've ever found. I start programs so much faster with it, it's great :)

thanks shangnyun,

i have to say, m_s, i'm actually enjoying the autosize-window feature you suggested, especially for using with group aliases, which now will show as many alias items as are in a group (this was actually a great suggestion made by someone in the F&R section), so that sometimes there are as little as 3 results and sometimes as many as 30, so it really does help to have the screen autosize to fit.  was a good suggestion.

Just installed ClipBoard Help + Spell AND Process Tamer. I'm becoming a sucker for DonationCoder software. It's that good :D
