"If you read nothing else on our site, get glasses!"
1. Podcast Show and DonationCoder.com Getting Organized Experiment (GOE)We have a special treat to announce today in the newsletter. As you know we have recently begun a tour of Time Management and Productivity Frameworks on our forum. We are proud to announce today that our podcast radio show this month consists entirely of part one of an exclusive two part interview we conducted with David Allen, one of the most respected authors in the field of time management and productivity, and the author of "Getting Things Done" (part 2 will be broadcast next week).
And don't miss out on this week's Getting Organized Experiment assignment, where we learn about Mark "Do It Tomorrow" Forster's System.
2. Borland C++ Builder Donationware Programming Contest Winners Announced and Available for Download! We finally announced the winners of the competition, and we've made the winning programs available for you to download for free. They include a new programmer's IDE, some cool games and utilities, and some powerful text manipulation and database tools. The programs are all donationware, so if you like them, donate to the authors:
3. Massive September Discounts and GiveawaysTo celebrate our September fundraiser and our 2nd year of operations, we're featuring discounts and giveaways of a massive collection of some of the best shareware available anywhere.

4. Software Updates and ReleasesForum member doublebogey has been dazzling us with some great AHK script work, plus the normal scoundrels have some big updates for us:
5. DonationCoder.com Shootout Reviews and EditorialsIt's been a while since we brought you some big shootout reviews, but all of that is going to be changing. We start off with the first of several planned reviews of Note Taking software, and an editorial on problems with Digg.com. Stay tuned next time for a comprehensive shootout review of icon editors.
6. New Mini-Reviews by MembersThe mini-review section of our forum is seeing some real activity lately. Got a program you love that people need to know about? Post a mini-review.
7. A Special Offer for September Donators - Last Chance for a Lifetime Deluxe Membership! Some very significant changes are coming after September's fundraiser, and this is your last chance to take advantage of our lifetime universal license offer:
- Throughout September, a one-time donation of any amount will grant you a non-expiring license for all current and future software developed on our site. Everyone who has donated prior to October 1st, 2006 will automatically be upgraded to this Deluxe status on October 1st.
- After October 1st, this will change. In an effort to encourage donations directly to individual authors, after October 1st you will have to designate some donation credits (an amount of your choosing) explicitly to each author whose software you want, or else make a substantial sized donation to an author and site fund (perhaps $60) to get Deluxe status.
- In addition, every donation made in September will be credited back 100% in the form of DonationCredits (instead of the normal 50%). This means that you will get back your entire donation in the form of credits which you can give out to individual authors on the site (or to the site fund) exactly as you see fit. While we humbly request that you choose to allocate some of your credits to the site fund, it is entirely up to you.
If you've already donated to us in the past, THANK YOU! You are already entitled to all of these benefits (of course we always welcome additional donations).
If you haven't donated yet, isn't now the time to consider whether a small donation wouldn't be good for you and good for us?
How much should I contribute? We know it's not easy to figure out how much you should contribute to a site like ours. Think about what you spend on software over the course of a year, and then ask yourself if it might be worth a contribution of maybe
$50, not for what we've already created, but for the new software that your contribution will help us create in the upcoming year. Software that you will benefit from. If you're still unsure, check out our
Scientifically Proven Optimal Donation Amount Chart for some additional guidance. We accept donations in any form (PayPal, credit cards, shareware services, money orders, checks, rare gems, hand-drawn art, etc.).
If you can't afford to make a financial donation - there are tons of other ways you can help us: Tell your friends about our site and software; leave comments on download sites about your favorite programs of ours, submit bug reports, write a review, help out other members on the forum, etc.
NOTE: This special offer ends when the fundraiser ends. So this is your
*LAST CHANCE* to become a supporter of the site with these benefits.
8. General Software DiscussionLots of great software discussion on the forum in the last two weeks:
9. Web Discoveries, Debates, and ArticlesWhat's worth reading on the web? With so much information out there it can be hard to know. Here are some recent discoveries we're talking about on the forum.
