after playing with it a bit more, its actually change location, on my laptop, that is connected to 2 other monitors, it disappears - I guess it goes outside of any view
on my home machine (connect to additional monitor) it move from one monitor to the other after I click exc, it has the same issue with almost any other letters combination, I think the moment it get some type of mapping to a solution (one of the apps that fit) it jump location

How strange.

Some possibilities:

1. Try the new beta, see if it makes a difference.
2. It could be another program moving it.. a window manager tool or a tool designed to move windows that are offscreen.
3. Go to the "Display Options" tab and uncheck "when appearing, center on current monitor" and see if maybe it makes a difference..

thanks, but it did not work, tried the beta , and the uncheck of the option, no change still happening, every time, (on two computers)
do you have two monitors , to check it out ?
if it does not happen, move the screen (to a different monitor) before you type then start typing...

yep, i have multiple monitors, never heard of this problem..
do you have any other program running in your system tray that might be trying to smartly keep windows from moving?

and remember it happen on two of my machines, work + home.
can you try this test , open the app, move the window to another monitor (not the one it opened at) and start typing letters of an app you have

I cannot reproduce the problem -- FARR window does not jump around at all.

tomorrow eve I can try it on a third laptop (my son's games laptop) - he has two screens and does not have it installed for ever like my machines.

You could always try downloading the PORTABLE version and just run that from a new directory to see if the problem happens even with a clean install.

Portable version behaves the same (although its not configured the same (probably the default) , for example, it does not , for starter, show the latest apps)
let me know if you want me to help debug ? for example version with logs, or anything like that

that is verrrry odd indeed, especially given that it's the first i've heard of this issue.

what operating system? both machines are laptops with multiple monitors yeah?

I know I asked you this before, but can you try to look at the running-process list (ctrl+alt+del), and see if you spot any utility that could be moving windows around on screen? There are some graphics boards or laptops that come with little window-manager tools that might..

Ok I see some code in FARR that tries to make sure the window fits on screen.. it must be malfunctioning for you (im not sure why only for you).
Let me make this under control of a user option --- that will at least let us disable it for now.

It seems to only run at program start, so that can't be your problem..

Also, do you have any farr plugins loaded that might be responsible? Click the button on the "External Tools and Plugins" options tab?

Or maybe you are testing the FARR portable version so it is clean out of the box...

Can you tell me again exactly what happens and when?

on one computer I do not have any plugins, on the second one I can look later in the evening,
anyway, the portable version has the same behavior and has no plugins as well
I can share a video I just did that show that if the FARR run on one monitor it will disappear when I type EXCE
and if I open it on my main monitor it does not - but its 36MB so I probably can't upload it, I can send you a dropbox link - maybe via email ? or some private channel ?

melamoud and I have been testing things and we've identified the source of the problem -- an oddity somehow occuring with FARR getting confused about where the main form is on the screen while trying to auto size itself..
I'm not sure if this affected anyone else but it will be fixed in next release in next 24-48 hours.
