How do you encode a DVD to a DivX/XVid file?
which program do you use.

Currently I am using DVD Decrypter with AutoGK, but I wan to know if there are better alternatives

i'd look around the tutorials at http://www.videohelp.com/ and http://www.doom9.org/ if using freeware.

AFAIK AutoGK is the best one-click solution.

An alternative would be to use GordianKnot and do everything manually. That's what I use. Robot4Rip for preparing, GordianKnot for encoding. See http://www.doom9.org for guides.

SimpleDivx is a good freeware tool also

today I tried out
anyDVD in combination with Nero Recode, which is pretty fast in encoding. The quality is also really good.  :Thmbsup:

I recently learned about this one called MediaCoder.
