problem with skype
« on: June 10, 2016, 01:56 PM »
hello!

I have a problem with skype. A particular person I talk with suddenly hears me very low. I checked their speakers and they work brilliantly! He can hear any youtube video without any problem. Yet when we connect via skype, he can barely hear me, even if he has his speakers at maximum.

Any idea?

thanks!

PS: Microsoft destroys anything they touch, and skype was a marvelous app, until MS got their hands on them.

Hello Kalos

Did you check the level of your microphone ?

I never changed anything.
I checked at both Skype and Windows settings and I set the microphone to maximum.
It still doesn't work.

Did you know that Windows allows you to set the volume for different programs individually? Changing speaker volume, or even the master volume will not help if the volume of Skype itself is set very low.

Just for clarity, can you confirm that he can Skype call other people with/without any sound issues?

There's also the Echo/Sound Test Service in Skype, normally in All Contacts unless it's been removed.
Otherwise, Options->Audio settings->Make a free test call.
