CHS seem to unfailingly capture the URL of a clip made in Firefox, but not at all in Slimjet (Chrome).
Is there a setting that controls this?

You are talking about when you copy some text on a web page, in firefox CHS ALSO saves the page url, but this doesn't work in Slimjet?
If so, this is because Chrome blocks this for "security" reasons, and there is no fix I know of.

@mouser: That would seem to explain it.
I just did a quick test of whether/how a CHS clip also captures the URL of source page:
  • Firefox: URL is always captured into Notes field of Grid display.
  • Internet Explorer: (64-bit) URL is always captured into Notes field of Grid display.
  • Internet Explorer: (32-bit) URL is always captured into Notes field of Grid display.
  • Slimjet: (Chrome) URL does not seem to be captured at all.
  • Canary: (Google Chrome 64-bit Beta) URL does not seem to be captured at all.
  • MS Edge: Not tested. (it is broken on the laptop I am using - Edge can't connect to any URL for some reason and I've not been able to fix it yet)

Hmm.

Hang on a bit, I must be mistaken somehow: I just now selected and copied some text from a website displayed in the Slimjet browser, and pasted that into OneNote, and the pasted OneNote content gives the source URL (see screenshot below).
Therefore, it seems that the URL is getting into the Clipboard, but not into CHS.
Is that correct?

I cannot get CHS/Firefox to do this [select some text on a webpage, Ctrl+C, look at CHS]. What am I missing?
Cheers

I guess he will have just found the URL that is is always captured into the Notes field of the CHS Grid display for a Firefox clip.

There is also an option to enable/disable this on the Capture Options tab.

Ah, I see.
In the Capture Options tab we have:
%filename% = slimjet.exe
%windowtitle% = Should CHS always capture the URL in a web-browser clip? - DonationCoder.com - Slimjet
%fullfilename% = C:\UTIL\Browser - SlimJet\slimjet.exe
%description% = Slimjet
%fileversion% = 10.0.3.0
%ActiveWindowInternalName% = chrome_exe
%ActiveWindowHandle% = 1051250
%company% = FlashPeak Inc.
%productname% = Slimjet
%versionstring% = 10.0.3.0
%nicename% = Slimjet [slimjet.exe]
%ActiveWindowBrowserUrl% =

So that's what happens (or doesn't happen) - the URL is not captured in CHS (%ActiveWindowBrowserUrl%) for Slimjet (a Chrome browser), whereas it always is captured in Firefox.
