Free Online Virusscan drag and drop?
« on: August 03, 2015, 02:39 PM »
Anyone know of, or is it even possible, to drag and drop multiple files, on a web form of a multi-virus scan site?

One at a time is way tedious.  I only have MBAM installed and it insists on doing the preliminary system check even if I just did that a moment ago.  And anyway it would be cooler to do something like VirusTotal if I didn't have to do individual uploads.

Jotti was updated to 5 files at a time

About Jotti's malware scan
Jotti's malware scan is a free service that lets you scan suspicious files with several anti-virus programs. You can submit up to 5 (five) files at the same time
-Jotti
click Scan with JottiQ, and upto 3 (three) files can be scanned (processed) simultaneously
-JottiQ

- but I have not tested it, so I don't know if Q can take more than 3 files in Real Life

I found this one that runs on the desktop.

http://www.ghacks.ne...-antivirus-programs/

Last updated in 2011 as far as I know.  Plus it seems to require a lot of work to configure.  May be worth it if one needs to do a alot of scans with various av programs.

Apparently you need to install and configure various av that have a CLI and program the command lines and parameters.

May be you can write a desktop wrapper for this:

It looks a bit ambitious.  :)

Maybe there is a FF extension tha automates loading VirusTotal or something.  I didn't think to look.

Edit:  Actually VirusTotal will accept one file dropped on the input line.  It seems susceptible to hanging though.  So much for automating it.  Oh well, I never liked av anyway.  :)
