problem with inserting video in powepoint

hello!
I try to insert a 30MB avi video file  into a pptx powerpoint presentation, and it doesn't play it inside powerpoint!!!
any solution??

I just inserted the video into powerpoint

I noticed that the specific video doesn't play in Windows Media Player

but I inserted another video (much smaller) that also doesn't play in WMP but it plays well in powerpoint

 

Is it a codec problem?
what can I do? I will have to send this powerpoint to another computer, so they must be able to play in all computers!!!
should I convert them into wmv ?
