Screenshot Captor -- change CTRL-SHIFT S hotkey?
« on: January 14, 2014, 10:35 AM »
Hi,

CTRL-SHIFT-S is assigned to bring up the RedBox Capture Mode. However it is not listed in the HotKeys list. I would like to use this hotkey for another purpose. How can it be removed from this assignment?

There are no hotkeys used by SC that are not listed in the HotYes list -- something else must be going on.

And Ctrl+Shift+S is not a default hotkey for SC.

Maybe some other hotkey tool is mapping that combination to act like a PrintScreen keypress of some sort?

Thanks for the rapid reply. I am using Autohotkey but it is when I tried to assign ^+S that the image below was displayed. I stopped all of my autohotkey scripts and it still happens :-(

I can't figure out how to attach a picture so I've sent a dropbox link to the image, that I hope is public. It sure looks like the Redbox mode.
Paste box that looks like Screenshot Captor

So what might be happening is that ^+S somehow being mapped to ^+PRTSCR, which triggers Redbox? If this seems reasonable to you, I'll look for that offending code. Thanks for your time with this.

yes i think so -- it would be a good guess that your AHK script is doing this?

I stopped my autohotkey scripts and it still does it. I will keep looking.

The problem with Windows is, as far as I know, there is no single spot where one can look for all hotkey assignments within Windows and across applications. Do you happen to know of any utility that would help me track down where this hotkeyassignment is coming from?
