Cannot delete single clips

Ahhhhh.... I found the problem!

The gremlins were in the PresetView folder!

When I deleted the PresetView folder from C:\Users\Jesper\Documents\DonationCoder\Clipboard Help+Spell and replaced it with a fresh PresetView folder from the well functioning portable version, everything worked normally again! The clips became black and not grey, and they were deletable again!

If you are curious, I attach the bad version of PresetViews. Only the files Last.preset.dock and Last.preset.grid differs in binary content from their well-functioning counterparts.

Thank you so much for helping me find the problem by asking all those good questions and make me test all the different combinations!

Maybe the problem started because I have had to brutally kill Clipboard Help+Spell so many times when it conflicted with LibreOffice and made both programs freeze (another problem that I have kind of repressed in despair). During those cold, brutal killings, the PresetView files might have been badly injured...

i'm going to have to study those preset views, as i haven't the faintest clues how they could cause the problem.

That's interesting.
I use PresetViews quite a lot and have experimented with them.
I just used Everything and discovered that there are unused PresetViews in the folder
C:\Users\{UserID}\Documents\DonationCoder\Clipboard Help+Spell\PresetViews
- which contains the files: (showing Created  Date, then Modified Date)

I know that when you save a PresetView, it saves certain settings corresponding to that view, but I have not figured out how you can save a PresetView which blocks (greys out) the option to delete clips.
However, if Jesper Hertel's PresetViews have somehow been set to do this, then I wonder whether this could be an undocumented feature in CHS that we don't know about or have forgotten, or maybe the functionality to effect it has been removed in later versions of CHS.

Oh, I would never be angry with such a wonderful program as Clipboard Help+Spell. :-) I use it all the time and it is extremely helpful to me! I only become sad when it is ill . I am so happy it recovered now!

However, if Jesper Hertel's PresetViews have somehow been set to do this, then I wonder whether this could be an undocumented feature in CHS

Yes, either that, or the program gets confused by some obscure error in the presetviews data due to a possible corruption and something fails that is not supposed to fail.
