Updating the help file
« on: May 13, 2006, 01:20 AM »
I'm in the process of writing a big updated help file for Screenshot Captore - figured it was about time.

If anyone has any particular areas they think should be focused on in particular please let me know.

:) :) Great, i think it was needing a help file.
For me, the red box capture is the most complex thing about it, and i still don't know how to use the exceptions.

I just want to take a moment to say what i have said occasionally in the past, but probably not often enough.

Look around at some of the other freeware available on the internet and see how many have big comprehensive help files.. not too many.

Work on the help files, which aren't fun to do, is due to your donations to this site, and your continued support, both monetarily, and in terems of encouragement, bug reports, and expressed interests.

Your donations have a real effect - they make it possible for us to spend time on these things that may not be fun but are important.  Part of our commitment to all of you who have donated is to work on the aspects of this site and our programs that might not be fun, but which you tell us are important.

You are a bit of a star - this must have been really tedious work for you to do, but it is appreciated.

Sorry mouser, but an 7,5meg download for v2.15.01 is way to much.

Please split the download into
Additional Help.chm 3,5MB
Clips ~2,5MB
and Main prog with an small help ~1,5MB

That's more resonable for an Scrennshoter, even is it as good as Captor.
What do you think?  :-\

i knew this was going to be a problem for dialuppers..
yeah i guess i will offer a plain mini download without the help or clipart.

only question is whether the default download will be this big one or else the mini one.

..the mini one...
see this as appetizer ... included an readme.html file (in many languages) with links to
the other downloads. (one causing more to need ppl to visit DC (maybe the app they loaded
from one of this download providers, but for the help the have to visit us) )

Also in the mini help there should be an hint about this.
