20 Unusual Toothpaste Flavors
Has anyone here wanted something other than mint-flavored toothpaste?

-Arizona Hot (May 09, 2018, 07:03 PM)
Myself, I was expecting more interest in chocolate or bacon flavor toothpaste.

Neanderthal: Profile of a super predator

I provide this video to stimulate critical thought about the reconstructions of Neandertal apperance, not because I support the presenter's theory.

''killer neandertals'' - does this one really stack up?

The second link is strictly text so no image is provided. Both are basically Australian, so cultural bias seems to be avoided.

Homo neanderthalensis

This site provides evidence that Neandertals could make clothing and so did not need much hair.

Evidence for the Paleoethnobotany of the Neanderthal- A Review of the Literature

Evidence that Neandertals had plants in their diet.

Nice picture of a Klein Bottle except that a real bottle of that type would be 4-dimensional.

Be careful when ordering the phone. Someone did during summer and it was shipped from Germany and arrived melted.

25 Phrases Americans Say That Other Countries Don't Understand

True?
I wonder if all of these originated in the States:
unfortunately they often dont give info about the origins of the phrases.

Growing up in Ireland in the 70s and 80s, I would have known (or gotten to know at least by the 90s) the following ones:
  • ‘Quitting Cold Turkey’
  • ‘Take a Raincheck’ -- think I only got to know this one in the later 80s
  • ‘Spill the Beans’
  • ‘Riding Shotgun’ -- the origin of this unfortunately not properly explained: I know the term well, not sure when it reached .ie
  • ‘Piece of Cake’
  • ‘More Bang for Your Buck’
  • ‘Let’s Go Dutch’
  • ‘Jump on the Bandwagon’
  • ‘Jonesing’ (1990's for me)
  • ‘For the Birds’
  • ‘Flake’ (late 80s to 90s for me)
