FWIW I tried yesterday afternoon sometime (CET). Got the same message, but it worked yesterday evening (my comment says 9:40pm on the site - not sure if that my timezone or yours)

Hi Guys, if you ever experience problems in posting comment, please try at a later time too, because problems with that plugin is temporary. You can even contact me using contact form or here if problem persists. In special cases, I can even post comment on your behalf.
But without that plugin I got around 20 spam comments in few hours. So, I enabled it again.
