Dupetrasher 2009 and asmdev
« on: September 01, 2012, 04:02 PM »
I didn't want to re-open these old threads
https://www.donation...opic=20532.msg184702

I recently needed to cleanup a drive - which I knew had plenty of duplicate stuff.
I mucked around with a bunch of duplicate file finder tools, but none of them seemed to handle
finding duplicate folders easily - the first step in cleaning up the mess.
I re-installed DupeTrasher 2009 and got the job done in flat out no (Edit: not "not") time

There was mention of a DupeTrasher 2010 so I looked for an update.
But both http://www.dupetrasher.com and www.asmdev.net seem to have had no activity for ages.

Member asmdev appears to have last logged in on 2010-11-03, his last post was in late 2009.
So I was wondering, does anyone know anything more?
Thanks.

The company has launched PhotoSort in March 2012, so maybe they are not all dead... However, it is my impression that the former asmdev (who wrote DupeTrasher) has left the company and been replaced by the author of PhotoSort (the two programs are showing different author names). Maybe this new guy didn't "want" to maintain the homepage.

I feel certain DupeTrasher 2010_Final never was launched.

Thanks Curt.
I could not see a recent release date for any of their products on their site, but I now see a reference on at least one other site.

A real pity if DupeTrasher had a short lifespan, but at least it'll serve me for a long as I stick with Win 7.
