Well, Everything searches files by file names but does not search inside the files. So it is not a full-fledged desktop search utility. You can search and launch any file using Everything, so it can serve as a quick launcher.

However, it is not as extensive as RecentX plus Everything requires administrative privileges & works only on NTFS partitions. While RecentX works for anybody and on any partition. The specialty of RecentX is that it keeps your favorites and most recently accessed items on top thus giving you faster access. Plus it can do programs, bookmarks & browser history also.
