filter display in outlook

[kalos]

hello!

I want to have some text input boxes in Outlook at the top, where I will type some text and it will filter the display of the messages to show only the matching ones
filter for sender, title, date, etc

is there anything like this?

thanks!

2 known search options in Outlook:
- Outlook (at least 2007 and 2010) does already have a 'simple' filter feature like that, reached by Ctrl-E (default keyboard mapping)
- Pressing Ctrl-Shift-F brings up the Advanced search criteria screen.

Isn't that enough?

to my poor memory kalos has Outlook 2003, if that makes any difference.

I use Outlook 2010 and the built-in Find feature is absolute crap.  If anyone knows of a good alternative I'd like to hear from them.
If you don't need to search archived pst files, then you might checkout Xobni.  It's more for contact management, but does a good job finding emails, todos, calendar, and memos too.

Even outlook 2003 has filter/search features, I'd expect.

Only plausible suggestion I can think of is Xobni, but it can be troublesome to get installed on an x64 Outlook install

Only plausible suggestion I can think of is Xobni...

I used to really like Xobni when it first came out years ago.  (Used it with Outlook 2003 on Wind XP 32bit.)
Now it is bloated with social networking junk that I don't need, and the feature I do need (i.e. search archives) is only available on the pro version--which is an expensive "subscription" that you have to keep buying over and over...

[Curt]

-yeah, we all gave praise to Xobni four years ago
It seems the praise has now stopped.

[kalos]

indeed I have Outlook 2003 32bit

which Xobni version is the last that worked well?

[kunkel321]

Hmm...  Not sure what the version was.  Google points here https://support.xobni.com/entries/20072333-xobni-for-outlook-release-notes.. ; Also be sure to scour the above-linked forum discussion...

I cant imagine there is no utility or plugin that cant do such a basic function :S

[kalos]

Anyone found something?

[kalos]

at least any other email client that supports this?

thanks, it looks powerful
but it doesnt seem to support filtering, only searching

I think there is nothing that can offer this, so now I am searching not for an outlook plugin, but for an email client that offers this
