Another tool....
« on: August 05, 2005, 10:48 AM »
Found this while surfing today.  I dont really consider it a competitor, but it does some similar functions as CHS.  mouser, you may be able to put this in the helpfile as alternatives.  I havent tried it... it looks obtuse and seems to intrusive (waiting till monday ;) ).

hey that's a pretty cool tool!  from web page:
The Free Data Capture Tool (FDC) gives you a convenient method for
capturing, filtering, mining, and conveniently processing text from webpages and other sources,
capturing images from web pages or dialog screens,
sending captured data via email.
FDC uses the MS/Windows clipboard and gives you a myriad of processing options that facilitate data mining of captured text. FDC generally hides in your system tray waiting for clipboard copy events to occur. FDC has a single interface dialog that pops up when activated. The interface has a captured data box on the left where either the image or text that was last captured is displayed as a thumbnail. Click on an image to view it. Capture options are on the right side of this dialog. Pressing the [Filters] button gives you control over how capture text data is processed.

i like to list similar programs in my help files.
if anyone knows of clipboard/notes programs, please post them, so i can:
1) add them to help file
2) check them out to get inspiration
3) let people know about alternatives

minipad2 and a question
« Reply #3 on: November 20, 2010, 03:50 PM »
Hi there,

I will mention a nice little note-taking pad (outliner), which is not exactly a clipboard manager, but it can also watch and manage clipboard in a very easy and handy way - minipad2:

http://www.nebulasof...ad2/minipad2_en.html - minipad2 Home Page

http://www.softpedia...uites/minipad2.shtml - minipad2 at Softpedia

I am a novice with Clipboard Help+Spell (before I used CLCL but I decided to test something else), I started using it today, I like it very much but I have a tiny problem- I cannot disable all sounds, is that possible? I disabled *Play Confirmation Sound on Capture*, but when I paste there is sound again. I think I browsed through the options thoroughly but I could not find how to disable all sounds. Maybe I am missing something? So I would like to ask- can all sounds be disabled without the deletion of the WAV files?

Thanks in advance,

Asen

Welcome to the site Asen.

This actually is a bug and a workaround was posted in this thread.
Basically you should clear the edit box specifying the sound the Clipboard Options tab, to disable it from ever being played.

In the future I will update the program so that unchecking that box is all that is needed.

Thank you for your amazingly quick resonse, Mouser. I am sorry I didn't find the thread you mentioned although I searched through the Forum. Yes it works! I was ready to delete all sounds but now it's ok. One last question, is there a way to delete all saved content from Clipboard Help+Spell with one single click (something like *Clear All Records*, right now I use CTRL+A + Delete, at CLCL this was possible through plug-ins- *Delete All History* and *Clear Clipboard*)? I could not find such an option. I do not know whether this is a bug or not, but the *Minimize Button* does not work for me, of course the application can be minimized on close.

Regards,

Asen

That's a great question.. there currently isn't a way to do this, but it's a great idea for a feature to add.
I will make it so you can click on any group node and say to delete all notes in that group (including child groups).

ps.
I'm going to split off this thread into it's own thread since it probably doesn't belong as part of the "Another tool" thread..

It will be great to implement such a feature in future releases of your nice application! It will be very handy if it would be able at Right Click at Root Node ALL to see an option like Delete ALL Content.

Mouser, it is absolutely great to be able to give feedback and suggestions directly to the developer and to receive such swift replies.

AI will go on using your clipboard manager and if anything interesting occurs to me I will drop you a line.

All the best,

A.

Hello Mouser,

Since you encourage users to provide links for similar to Clipboard Help+Spell programs I will mention a very simple application I came across today - Clipboard History:

http://www.outertech...n/clipboard-manager/ - Home Page
http://www.softpedia...-History-Outer.shtml - Clipboard History at Softpedia

Before CHS I've always used CLIPX that is not listed in the related programs.

I want to add my vote for a quick means to clear all current clipboard content.

Thanks for a great tool!
