is there a tool or web service to convert MOBI or EPUB files to PDF while influencing/adjusting font size?

Wooow! That's some seriously huge tool... and free! ...and comes with an intuitive interface!   (I love that lots of options are explained when you mouseover them.)

To eliminate the big download you could use http://ebook.online-convert.com

However, I don't like the look of the pdf files produced from this - but I suppose it is possible to dress them up using some of the pdf utilities

Thanks, I'll stay with the program, MUCH more powerful than the web service. Really crazy, how many different ebook formats there are these days...

Partial answer: Hamster Free eBook Converter does a passable job interconverting among mobi, epub, text, pdf, lit, etc. But I don't think you can manually specify font size. Of course, don't some PDF readers let you +/- the text-size?

Okay, this is an old thread, but it popped up so here it is.

My instinct is to do it in two stages. Converting "into" PDF is pretty easy. So take your source .mobi or whatever, open it into a word editor, fiddle with the fonts or even the text, then hit "export to PDF".

Going the other way is the one that's hard - PDF's were sorta made not to be easily messed with.
